I received email from AA encouraging self check-in at kiosk or online.
What happens if i check-in online but miss my flight in the end? can ask for refund of airport tax or not? |

Sorry for asking a question which may sound terribly stupid but i really dont know.
AirAsia and AirAsiaX - is the difference that AA flies to domestic destinations only and AAX to overseas destinations? so AA promo and AAX promo will be for different destination? I want to go to Taipei next year - do i wait for AA promo or AAX promo? thanks |

I booked a return flight on AA just now - I did not notice that AA automatically added 20kg each way before i pressed "pay". I thought that if i did not choose any luggage it means that i don't want any check-in luggage.
Is there any way i can change this now? ie no check-in luggage going outbound and a. transfer all the luggage allowance to my trip coming back to malaysia? or b. cancel all the check-in luggage entirely and get a refund? thank you. |

thanks for the reply Kucing!
Since i now have 20kg luggage allowance, if i upgrade to 30kg for my return trip to Msia:- 1. do i just pay the difference between 20kg and 30kg? 2. does it mean i get 30kg luggage or 20+30kg luggage sorry, if this sounds silly but i really dont know. thanks for your advice. |

hai, i agree with tishaban.
i book BKK-CM flight. Now i see something called "VALUE ADDED TAX" - what the heck is this? It's not airport tax which is a separate item. This "VALUE ADDED TAX" is added twice - once for the ticket price and another time for the luggage+convenience (such a lie) part. Who knows what is 'VALUE ADDED TAX' - i dont feel as if i've got any value. Feel ripped off actually |

I checked-in online for international flight, no check-in luggage.
You must print your boarding pass and bring along with you - it's got 2 copies. If no check-in luggage, then of course no need go to bag drop counter; go straight to departure gate. Just before u get to immigration counter, there's AirAsia staff who will verify and "stamp" your boarding pass (that u printed yourself). Then u go thru normal procedures and at the boarding counter, the AA staff tear off 1 of your boarding pass copies. |

HELP!!
I login into my AirAsia account and "manage my booking" - i have 2 bookings completely disappeared!! It's for next week. I tried to do search on the booking numbers and neither showed up. I did not get any message from Airasia cancelling the flights either. I tried to contact live-help but they are off-line. Added on December 27, 2010, 10:12 amSort of a resolution to the problem above. If i login and go to "manage my booking" it shows "my bookings" page which is missing some flights/bookings. A search on this page with the Booking Number turns up blank page. If i do NOT login and do a search with the booking number and flight details, then the itinerary shows up as "confirmed". Just FYI for those who may come across the same problem. This post has been edited by JustAsking: Dec 27 2010, 10:12 AM |

"block check in 48 hours" -
from AA Fb this is the explanation - "the block boarding 48 hours is for those booking departing within 48 hours from the time of booking, they are unable to perform self check-in through mobile/web. However you are still eligible to check-in your flight as usual at the airport counter . . " Added on December 28, 2010, 9:03 am@munkeyflo - only got one AA login account!! There seems to be glitch in AA system giving rise to these problems. Hope they sort out soon. This post has been edited by JustAsking: Dec 28 2010, 09:03 AM |

Yes, you can web check-in if your return flight back to Malaysia if the return flight is within 7 days and not later than 4 hours before departure unless the country you are coming from falls under AA "no web check-in" category.
check AA website for some countries that cannot do web check-in - from memory, one of them is Australia. QUOTE(goliath @ Jan 17 2011, 04:06 PM) |

I may have to change my flight departure date. I know from previous posts that I cannot do so if my ticket is a promo rate.
However, from my flight itinerary I cannot tell whether it is a promo rate - it just shows the price. Also this is my first time trying to change my flight date. Can someone please tell how to go about it? I think it's something to do with "manage my booking" but after that what? I want to check the cost of changing the flight date and the cost of a new flight. thanks for any help. Please HELP! |
