idra solo-ed 4 thors with only mutas...
again, magic box ur mutas so they dun get clamped up...

@ quaz
well they are mobile, provide good harassments and pwns the reapers/ hellions that are usually good vs zerg...

i once fight 3~4 thors with 6~7 muta and ard 10 lings
i left 1 red muta.... wink.gif

currently the topic at hand is thors vs mutas straight up. nothing to do with harassment, mobility, reapers and hellions. mutas are terribad against thors /argument

Added on September 2, 2010, 4:17 pmi think tonite ill start an easy custom game against a terran, defeat the terran, but dont end the game, then take over a scv, start making terran bases and try all the light/armored test.

doesnt make sense...
so u tell me u gonna park ur muta in ur base only?
mutas are one of the best harassment unit out there due to its and after a critical mass deals with any unit relatively well even thors...
thors on the other hand are really immobile so u gotta use it to ur advantage...

how does "thors rape mutalisks" not make sense to you? people were talking about how thors rape mutalisks, not how mutalisks can run around harass workers and rape hellions/reapers.

if you want actual battle despairs, what you wanna do when your zerg base has a couple of thors + tanks + MM (or mainly just marine, since the T would know ur massing mutas) right in front of your base, and he got a few new thors in his base that isnt rallied to his main army in case you wanna base trade with ur muta.

reality: thors are not the unit getting nerfed based on the patch 1.1 previews...

korean terrans usually used marines (stim-ed) vs mutas instead and my personal experience of such builds agrees with the korean builds over supposed thor as counters...

reality: you are not forced to build ONLY mutas as a zerg.

the nerfs would actually allow other units like zerglings to get close despite siege tank behind the thor covering and actually taking out the thor, and/or the tank, which gives ways to other units (like mutas) to take out the other units.

with the changes to tanks down to 35 damage to non armored, i think ur lings/ hydras gonna be sooooo happy...
nt to mention lings > thors

it still 1 shot lings, but it wont 1 shot a PILE of lings (or hydras for that matter) since the splash dmg would be further reduced

not just lings > thors, depending on number count, hydras do have a pretty good chance on thors due to their high dps. they just get 1-2 shotted by thors which makes low count hydras (just like low count mutas) unfavorable against a thor in general.

Note that when ever the thors are attacking your muta, you ground units should be doing massive damage to him because thors do take sometime killing mutas if they are not bunched up.

as i said before, my nexus got sniped by mass reapers in a 2s game that is not even funny...
