playing 3v3 4v4 usually mess up ur 1v1 and vice versa...

Want to ask, how do you counter against sentry + stalker ??

I had one of this game vs this combo and I lost the engagement even though I have more roaches (a bit more, not by a far margin). What my opponent did is keep spamming the sentry's wall to block off my roaches at the ramp and splitting my forces into two and pick them off separately. He's using stalker range > roaches range to gg me.

if the protoss mix in immortals, any sort of roach defense will die. immortal range + sentry FF imba. -DRG

from what u told me, it sound like a 6-7 gate +1 allin timing off 2 base...
with that, there is no observers...
the allin works well by using FF to isolate and pick off the units of the zergs little by little...
using burrow, u can run away or move towards the army and thus dealing loads of damage to his army...
the moment u defended the push or kill a significant amount of sentry, u should win the game since the protoss spent too much gas on sentries and is really late on tech...

yes but in a BIG fight u might be wasting ur dmg, imagine all the dmg of an entire squad unleashed on a 45 hp marine. so look at how big is ur group

Yea... it's a timing push, aint sure if it's 6 or 7 gates, but that guy have 4 - 5 sentries with like 7 or 8 stalkers. I'm very bad at defending, lost a couple of game just because cant defend against timing push :\

well it depends on the protoss's FF micro. but FF is like compulsory course for protoss, a good protoss must know how to use FF properly...if not you can just A lol him.

For me, I think the best way to hold off against toss is to do constant scouting.. Always run by a ling or two and if they don't FFE, try to fly by an OV or something to get a peek of what he or she is going for.. That way, you can be prepared for his push timing as well as have the proper unit composition to counter it.. Not so easy against Terran though..

against a toss that dont FFE and when you go up ramp theres less than 3 sentry, just saturate your 2 base until about 6-6.30 minute throw down evo then spore crawler and mass ling and you are fine.

what can 1 base toss do.

dt (spore)
stargate (spore) this 2 strat will show less than 3 sentries. on top of ramp

4 gate, 4 gate warp prisms, immortal all in (these all ins require alot of unit, if you saturate 2 base, +1 carapace lings can just out produce your opponent but you should engage at favorable spots and try to snipe proxy pylons.)

if they on top ramp but you see alot sentry means its a sentry expand. always count sentry and if his 1st 2 unit is zealot stalker, more than likely he is gearing for some 1 base play.

I don't see that many DTs in 1v1 though I'm beginning to see a lot of all-ins and cheeses by a lot of players in the 1v1 scene these days.. It's like nobody plays proper around Gold League.. ><

roach infestor....or if they are not that good, make alot of muta and start harrassing his base until he wears out....mech player need 3 base to be healthy and for less capable terrans, its hard to use thor to defend against muta at all place. just be careful with your muta dont let thor damage them too much. they cant have too many thors because thor is expensive.

then at home max out on roach and infestor. if your harrass is good, you can delay damn long.



another suggestion. doom roach drop. get 44 drone in 2 base 3 hatch. research drop, upgrade your roaches. drop like 15 roach into his main base when he want to expand to his 3rd or his army is out of position. take out all the factories (top priority) then you expand behind make into roach infestor.
