Just starting out on SC2. Getting pawned left right center.

DoTA i bully people, now I'm getting bullied in SC2 T_T

Any tips for a zerg player like me?

Tried spanishwa's build, fail. Try basic roach opener fail also.

Gotta constantly scout for those dumb protoss and terran players, just in case they bunker/canon rush me.

Just pick any 1 base build and try to hit timings. http://www.sc2builds.com/ My experience back in bronze was basically doing 1 base all ins. But timing I try to hit exactly.

^ That works too but replays and having a friend who plays around the same time as you so you can get the idea of how to play comes in really handy.. Oh and try playing with A.I. in a straight up game to get a rough feel of how it handles.. Helps a lot smile.gif

Oh. I see.

But usually when terran or protoss doesn't attack me. I got a feeling they will be going for phoenix/banshee + cloak.

Been playing with very hard A.I getting better now. Its just that I still can't multitask well. Hand coordination still kinda slow though

Then again, playing with others you won't really know what to expect.

Key to winning is to use the element of surprise I guess and constant scouting.

Hmm, I guess my weakest point is that I'm quite oblivious to drops by terran.

Hey hey hey.. Don't spoil his spirit.. Play Zerg dude, it's the fun-est race to play.. tongue.gif But you have to understand the distinctive race differences and if you don't wanna hit the ladder yet, you can always just go play some custom games.. More often than not you'll meet someone who's just messing around.. smile.gif

Well actually, I'm trying to master zerg. One thing I like about zerg is that their units can be spawn simultaneously which I like !!!

+ I like infestors. HUUHUHUHUHUHUH.

Fungal and mind control. So syok

Once I get the hang of zerg, then I'll try protoss/terran.

I don't have an account. I just go to blitz and use their account 1.

Custom game? I usually select melee. Lulz.

Currently now when I'm playing I tend to see terran going for tanks/marine

Protoss usually just mass up at base with blink stalkers and colossi.

From my experience, if you're new, just do like one-base timing attack. This is very effective if you're at Gold or lower league.
You can do baneling bust, 7 roach rush and win the game around 6th to 7th minute game time.

I see i see. Cuz husky said usually zerg has to be 1 base ahead of the enemy.

If those terran wall in with bunker, still can bust through?

Gotta learn the basics first hahahahaha.

1 base ahead of the enemy -> this if you wanna play mid to late game. If you are new, trust me it's hard and you end up losing all the way. But it's good if you can practice early expand and mid game type of play. But for the time being, try to 1 base play cheese game first.

If got bunker, try to bust the another side of the supply depot.

Relying on one-base all-ins won't help you improve much. Learn to play a macro game. Don't think too much about ladder ranking since you're still new. Just master the mechanics first.

Heres a great tutorial by one of my favorite commentators, DignitasApollo

That's a good way to start, try getting the gist of playing the game first, reading BOs and it's like will take you a long way.. Watch Day9 too if you have the time.. Very insightful and helpful for you in the long run.. smile.gif

I started off with terran, I can say for beginners it's really easy especially with timing pushes laugh.gif

I find terran race is the hardest to play later on, followed by Protoss, then zerg easiest.

For now you can choose all-in builds to familiarize yourself with micro and macro first since you're new

Or you can choose the long term route, but you might get demotivated in the process, which is the macro style biggrin.gif

I think for now I'll just try to familiarize myself with micro and macro. Still have not fully utilize those hotkeys. sad.gif

exactly. Learn the basics first. After you have mastered one base, try 2 base timing push. For example 2 base roach rush.
