RT-AC68U better
AC68U has a Dual Core 800MHz Processor compared to a Single Core 600MHz on AC66U

Hi AsusMY,

How can I easly set up a cron job - to update IP address to SmartDNS server every five minutes. Tried using the DDNS thingy, apparently it's not updating as intended that I decided to trigger the update from the router itself. TQ

Cron Job (Routers, Linux)

Using a cron job to call curl, you can query our API periodically to update your IP address. Check out our IP Address API article for more information. An example cron job entry would look something like this (this updates your IP address every 5 minutes):

*/5 * * * * curl -u PUT_YOUR_API_KEY_HERE:x -X PUT https://www.getflix.com.au/api/v1/addresses.json

Hi vivre,

May I know what is your router model and how you set the SmartDNS on the DDNS page?

Thank you

Hi vivre,

If you are trying to trigger the update using the the ASUS router, I believe you will need to know how to use Telnet to our router in order to do so.

As for the Dynamic DNS, what server has you tested? It seen like it will use the DDNS that you have registered to get the WAN IP address.

Thank you

Greetings all good people,
I hope this thread is still alive. I spent last few days trying to set up my new RT-66U with my Maxis Fiber and ASTRO IPTV. So far no luck.
When I bought the router, the guys in the shop (All IT Hypermarket in Low Yat) were nice and showed me how to set it up with the classic ASTRO IPTV numbers (Internet = 621, LAN4 = 823, LAN3 = 822). Unfortunately that didn't work for me at all. Not even the internet. Later by trial and error I found out that if I select Maxis Fiber Special, I can get internet, but no IPTV. So it looks like the correct settings for my internet and VoIP is Internet = 11 and LAN3 = 14. Unfortunately the LAN4 for IPTV is blank.
I tried to call ASTRO and MAXIS but no luck. They said to call the seller of the router and that they don't support other routers. Sigh...
My modem is Technicolor TG784N v3.

Anyone can please help with the missing value for IPTV LAN4??

Thank you all
Marty

Hi guys. Im thinking of getting either Asus RT-N12HP or Asus RT-N14UHP to use with my UNIFI. Do both of them support HyppTV? What is the difference between these two? And if you guys know the best place to get either of them with the best price.
