I was gone through the TM stock RG router and found something inside that router at the Tr069 section. Since I got problem to access my HyppTV with Asus router. I found that the only solution is plug it back to the LAN4 of TM stock RG router to activate HyppTV again. Then try your luck to plug it back to the LAN4 of your Asus router again after the channels are available to watch.

Here below are some of the settings that I was found inside that RG router. I think this should be the main reason why my Asus always not working for my HyppTV but have to use back my TM router to reactivate my HyppTV. However, I just got one month free watch. After one month, I will not watch HyppTV anymore. Currently I was subscribed to MYIPTV. I am watching astro through IPTV. It does not required to switch my port to LAN4.

Your mistake is using a Fast Ethernet router (ASUS RT-N12) which is constrained by 100Mbps LAN ports and 300Mbps wireless-N for Time Fibre 300Mbps.

Please consider upgrading the RT-N12 to a gigabit dual-band AC router to optimize your Time Fibre 300Mbps connection.

To be fair, he would still be at square one in terms of setting up TIME Fibre, regardless of which Asus router he has.

What he needs is the TIME Fibre equivalent of this YouTube video. Just surprised ASUS MY hasn't proactively done one already.

Still, the steps are pretty similar. Just have to disregard that part about using the Unifi setup profile, and just do a generic one instead.

So you mean to say this router for LAN only goes up to 100mb and wireless 300mb?

I tried this way but after setup, my network icon has an exclamation mark on it.

Sorry my mistake. I'm actually using the RTN12-HP.

The RT-N12HP is still a fast Ethernet router constrained by 100Mbps LAN ports. biggrin.gif

Did you at 1:25 of the video...

A) Untick the 'Special Requirement from ISP' box
B) Ticked the 'Special Requirement from ISP' box, and selected 'Manual'
C) Ticked the 'Special Requirement from ISP' box, and selected 'None'

Yea sorry i read your post wrongly lol. So if i were to still want to just set it up in the meantime while i shop for a new router soon, will i be able to do that? Because the D-LINK router that they provided me has unstable wifi connections and keep losing connection from time to time

Of course you can continue to use your existing Fast Ethernet router in the meantime, while you look for an upgrade.

Just don't expect 300Mbps speeds. laugh.gif

I would suggest the mid-range ASUS RT-AC55UHP which will cost you around RM570.

What about the RTN56-U. Will this router do?

This is an older model gigabit router with no wireless-AC. Only Wireless-N, limited to max 300Mbps.

It is also cheaper at around RM400.

If you are sure you can live with your wireless clients operating well below 300Mbps, then go ahead. smile.gif

Well, this is from a post by ASUS MY on page 98 of this thread...

For TIME fiber, you no need to choose any ISP profile in the ASUS router, just select PPPoE and key in the user name and password and you are done.

In the meantime, one more tip for you.

If you are setting up your Time Fibre 300Mbps connection with the RT-N12HP, do a factory reset first BEFORE running the quick setup procedure for Time Fibre.

This will reset all VLANs previously defined for Unifi. Time Fibre doesn't require VLANS.

Grats!

NOW you can go and buy yourself a better router that will optimise the use of your 300Mbps package, and use the old one as an access point. smile.gif

What i just did was setup the Asus Router as a repeater. Since all the desktops in my house are connected via LAN cable, we were mostly facing wifi issues while using our smartphones. I'm assuming 100mb is more than sufficient for smartphones lol. This way i can hold off buying a new router until i really need one.
