I might get this very very very soon. I gonna stop sharing the bill for TMNET in my hostel and start using this. If its as good as they say, bye bye Shitmyx. Hope it lives up to my expectations.

As of 15/16 December 2010, I'm too aggravated to use TMNET anymore. Cuz all the way its bad news for normal Shitmyx users.

Brother driftmeister, I am happy for you now that you had decided to opt for YES. rclxms.gif I am sure if you compare the voice rates with other telcos like Maxis, Digi, Celcom [you pay through your nose], it's definately the cheapest rate in whole Malaysia. As for the wireless, it's still very fast & cheap too & you still get the rebates.
For brother driftmeister, since you are living near to Puchong , here are a few places that you can register  thumbup.gif .....see below please.....
PUCHONG
JMF Multimedia Sdn Bhd
Address: No 17 Jalan Puteri 2/1, Bandar Puteri, 47100, Puchong, Selangor
Contact no.: 03-8060 9175
Thunder Match Technology Sdn Bhd
Address: Digital World @ IOI Mall, Lot DW-S33/33A, 2nd Flr, Batu 9, Bandar Puchong Jaya, 47100, Puchong
Contact no.: 012-207 6632
wub.gif Hope this helps.

How much downloading are you doing? Speed is good, but you will be forced to stop really fast if you download any stuff at all!

I had my hand with a HUDDLE a while ago. Doing a speedtest to local server can get 8Mbps/1Mbps but when i choose an overseas server gives me 500kbps/1Mbps ... anyone sees this?

I was just mooching around the Yes website. It seems they changed their content, and added some new info. Much better info than before, I think. And I was looking at their IDD rates.... all I can say is WOW.

To Singapore: 9 sen/min for both mobile and fixed

to compare with Digi which I am using now... 18 sen for fixed, 43 sen for mobile.

To UK: 9 sen/min for fixed, 72 sen for mobile

to compare with Digi again, 18 sen fixed, 93 sen mobile.

USA: 9 sen for fixed....
Canada: 9 sen for fixed and mobile
China: 9 sen for both
Hong Kong: 9 sen
Germany: 9 sen

Wow. Seriously. I'm going to try calling a cousin in Singapore tomorrow, this is seriously wow.

thumbup.gif This is really good indeed.....saves us a lot of money especially for those who want to call their love ones overseas which most of us had nowadays. rclxm9.gif Yes, I believe that YES is trying to bring down the cost of our living indirectly unlike other telcos like DIGI, MAXIS, CELCOM, etc who charged highly & swindle us all these years by asking us to pay through our noses. vmad.gif mad.gif Like as I had said earlier, I had always been trying to find one really good telco who is able to provide us CHEAP VOICE CALLS WITH CHARGING US THIS.....THE SKY IS THE LIMIT. vmad.gif mad.gif ......AND NOW I BELIEVED YES IS THE ONLY ONE FOR US IN MALAYSIA.. rclxms.gif

notworthy.gif Thank you YES for everything......we really love you. wub.gif

cheers.gif Cheers to all.

I'm having a good time with my Yes service. I usually keep my comments fair and would give credit where its' due.

Only complain is the weak signals indoor(even in landed homes) and it's still not there yet for true mobility in moving vehicles.

As for my speedtest with just moderate/weak signal I could get this kind of speed:

user posted image

Very happy for the first time such speed is achievable on wireless internet and it even beats my Streamyx fixed line connection.

i have already pointed it out.
YES employs a pay as you use model. so with this model, it is logical to assume that YES would want to give u the best speed that they can, coz u dl more they earn more.

i sell fried rice, sure i wan cook faster coz alot ppl buy ma...i sell more if i cook faster

i think when more people come in, they need improve the bandwidth to feed so many people, if not, someday it may become like tm. but 1 things diffrent is pay as you use, tm didin't apply this rules, means you pay rm88, you can use 1gb, 2gb,10gb or even more... this is seem cheap for user, but this is nightmare for isp, since they only earn your monthly rm88, but you use more than you pay, every1 use the line 24 hours, every1 BT. how much the bandwidth need to feed so many user on9? this method seem not work, so pay as you use will be the trend of broadband, just like water and electric we use. Pay as you use, pay less if you use less, pay more if you use more...this is fair for everyone user.

Won't likely happen because so far none of the other isps give you any sense of hope when they are newly launch .

P1 Wimax is still struggling to offer anything close to 3-4mbps while Streamyx is near to useless in my area.

4mbps is as far as my line can go because of the old copper switch infrastructure in front of my housing garden. They still refuse to install a new remote fiber cabinet here at my area despite the high Streamyx subscription of homes here.My attenuation aret and SNR value is at the borderline already and it wouldn't allow any speed increase anymore.

Yes would not suffer the same fate as the other wireless isps because of their PAY as you use model. Bandwidth hoggers will be penalized heftily if they even try to act funny.

People could jump ship but could they afford to use it they way they abuse their Streamyx lines.

This network was meant to be use for mobile internet for convenience. It's not a fixed broadband line which works based on best effort basis with line contention.

You're charged based on your meter usage and in return you expect near leased line-like quality.

When more people come in it won't cripple their charging model as every megabyte is charged just like your electricity meter.
They'll have enough bandwidth as more people joining would increase their revenue instead of TM's best effort pricing scheme which the telco have to think carefully for justification before increasing their bandwidth. They still continue to charge a flat rate monthly pricing and if the they don't achieve minimum subscriptions to justify the bandwidth upgrade they'll lose more money further.

Worst yet bandwidth hoggers will make things worst.
An area with just a small amount of subscribers but with just a few bandwidth hoggers will be enough to put your resources to waste. In this circumstances, if you're in the position of the telco would you still consider to upgrade your backhaul pipe just to keep these few bandwidth hoggers quiet?

Minimum commitment is RM30.You need to use up this minimum amount every month to keep your line active.
So to put it clear RM30 top up is a must monthly.

No credit limit involve whereby you would get a bill shock! such as Maxis. Minimal risk.

Say you top up RM100 and someone stole your password. He used it all up.Once your credit hits RM0, your account gets suspended and you can't surf anymore. That is when you know your password has been stolen because of the unrecognized usage.

Thing to watch out is you need to estimate how much usage you need before using. You might not want to have your line interrupted in an important call or internet session.

This is due to the 10GB free promotion till the 19th.

After this, your accounts would only be allowed to continue using the internet only if you have credit inside. You need to top up to continue using your account if it runs low.

Don't compare VOIP with GSM call rate.

This if from pennytel.com/my and they exists years ago. You should call your cousin years ago.
