0.15 sen/minute for local calls to all numbers worth 333 minutes = RM 49.95, with remainder RM 50.05 for data 1GB. This all adds up to RM100 commitment per month, which tallies up for the first iValue Plan.

Is my calculation corrrect?

Agree with you bro, I have the same feeling too. I am not using suplimentary line bro, so no issues for me. Just answering jackyflc based on writing a letter basics. tongue.gif

by the way, if the principal line is our parents, I think most of them would not want to Q with us especially the midnight slot to get the phone biggrin.gif

@nimrod323,
So it's confirmed it's not an auto-upgrade for existing iValue customers who's got no intentions of getting the iPhone 4?

mm how to suggest? tongue.gif more to personal preference i think. some ppl dun like to be tied too long. for me i'll go for 2 years since i get 2 year warranty. also:

1390 + 24*100 = rm3790 total in 2 years (not including extra charges lah. that varies from individual)

then (3790 - 2290)/24 = rm62.50

so it's the equivalent of buying ip4 16gb at RRP price rm2290 n with a rm62.50 monthly bill for 2 years, including 1gb data. good value biggrin.gif

another reason is i dont think i can afford another iphone next year anyway tongue.gif might as well bertahan for two years. by then i should be working dy biggrin.gif

on the 2 year warranty part, normally iphone warranty given is 1 year, while additional warranty need to pay (example SG iphone additional warranty cost SGD99.00)

But in this maxis case, do you have any idea on the additional warranty charges? FOC?

it's rm264 not rm360 lah. pandai2

the rate is 10sen/10kb. digi has the same rates too, but they limit to 5mb. so rm264 for about 27mb sounds about right. no surprise if the user actually bothered to find out the data rates in the 1st place.

that's why i think it's stupid to not get a data plan with an iphone. it's just like buying a blackberry without BIS

@slickz
siapa suruh pandai pandai beli iPhone, tak payah baca user guide, suka suka surf internet? contract tak baca?
if its really unfair billing, make police report n sue them la.

by the way, that's old news. iOS 4 has a cell-data off switch, so its not an issue anymore.

yep, as the customers who signed up the previous ivalue are bounded by the old perks and these new amendments are for those who want to extend their contract or new contracts only, its similar with the idigi strategy.

typo on the 360 thing. My bad.

But for the iValue plan I see that you get 1GB for free. How does that relate to this being RM 260 ?

@slickz
cos the dum-dum in the link above didn't subscribe data plan. so Maxis conveniently billed him for pay-per-use.
since its in the contract, they can do it.
since they're an iPhone partner, the phone will auto-update its APN n other carrier data.
since the phone is smarter than the owner ...

Thx for the suggestion. Well actually wat i'm worry is dat for eg. the previous ivalue plan was not as good as the current new ivalue. Therefore if i subscribe for 24 months and in case in the next 12 months, maxis revise the plan to a better deal. Then i wont get to enjoy that latest plan as i'm bound for the current ivalue1 plan for 24 months.
