Home of Rockybru's Ahirudin burgled
By LESTER KONG

PETALING JAYA: Burglars broke into the home of Rockybru blogger Datuk Ahirudin Attan early Friday and stole about RM150,000 worth of items. His black Peugeot 407 sedan, a wristwatch and son's toy scooter were stolen in the break-in that occurred while he, his wife, mother-in-law, three children and three nephews were sound asleep.

The Redberry Media Group advisor said his car was seen being driven out of the main gate guardhouse around 3am by security guards but was not stopped. "I think they thought it was either me or my wife driving the car. If they had looked, they would have seen that it was not us because the car's windows are not tinted," he told The Star.

Ahirudin said the police were called minutes after his mother-in-law woke up at 5am to find the front door wide open. "We had triple locks on the front door. They picked all. We also had mean-looking steel padlocks on the front door grill and gate but they picked those too," he said.

The first four-man patrol team arrived at his home before 7am to take their statements, he said. He added that nothing else was missing around the house apart from the stolen items worth about RM150,000.

The blogger popularly known as Rocky said as at 11.30am, forensic police were still scouring his four-room house in Puchong, near here, for clues to the crime. Ahiruddin said they had suggested to the Residents' Association to make it compulsory for all cars entering and exiting the housing area to be checked after midnight.

"After this, I will put in some CCTVs and alarms. Looks like the community security is not sufficient," he added.

Wah, called police at 5am, they only came at 7am. Two hours response time!

Any criminal would have plenty of time to getaway. No wonder, they are getting bolder each day.

Why can not trust alarm system ? Alarm won't lie to you.
If you have the alarm, 90% chance the burglar will not pick your house as his 1st choice of target. Most reported break-in cases in B.Kinrara were not armed.
After all, the cost of installing home alarm system is about the same as one Nokia N8 nia tongue.gif
Or fix a fake alarm box outside your house biggrin.gif

Many people have this kind of feeling. My neighbour too have the same feeling as you till it too late.

Most theft don't pickup a house with alarm system. Even if it broke in, the alarm will call to your handphone. If you can't comeback fast, you can call up to your neighbour to look at your house. At least a phone call is faster than the police come. biggrin.gif

My neighbour don't install the alarm system. Thinking that everyday have people in house, the theft won't dare come. But once they went out for lunch just few hour, already kena broke in. Coming in from the roof and going out through front door. Now heavy arm with cctv, alarm and high sharp grill like prison. doh.gif

Can recommend alarm system? Fake and real. Then I decide which one more better for my house.
