Have you tried with other earphone.. or have you tried out the video out cable just to check the connector is ok or not.. BTW please take note to connect the TV out cable to a TV first then only to your phone... |

QUOTE(Tshow123 @ Jul 29 2010, 10:09 AM) My N900 does not detect earphone ( the 1 come in box ) when plug in . anybody encounter this before ? reboot and try. also when plugging in, you have to do it in one continuous fast motion. if you do it slowly, it detects as something else (e.g. tv out cable) and then does not detect it at all when fully inserted. |

QUOTE(Tshow123 @ Jul 29 2010, 11:08 AM) After reboot & try other earphone , it works ! Thanks guys . then maybe faulty nokia headphone. also remember that this n900 might not be able to detect or work with some other nokia original headphones that have buttons in the cable for e.g. play, stop, ff, rw and so on. it does not allow those type of controls, yet. Sadly still no detect for Nokia earphone . the keyword being yet. i remember seeing someone was developing some app for that. when apple was advertising "there is an app for that" what they actually meant was "there is an app for n900 for almost everything imaginable" check this out motorola is still not happy about apple's comments on droid-x http://www.droid-life.com/2010/07/27/new-d...-shot-at-apple/ Added on July 29, 2010, 11:41 am QUOTE(jananan @ Jul 29 2010, 07:42 AM) i have reflashed and stayed off the titan's OC kernel because i wanted FCam and i don't want to install multiboot. thursday noon 12PM - 47% battery remainingsince i am not using n900 as a phone, the GSM/3G power usage factor is out of the equation. Bluetooth/gps/wifi all are turned off. only FasterAppMan / Leafpad / FCam and FCam drivers are installed. ambient light sensor and keyboard lights turned off. no widgets loaded, only shortcuts on desktop. leaving the n900 on standby with no background apps it discharges at a very slow rate, very very slow infact. i checked battery with "hal-device bme" since i have no battery level widgets installed. timeline --------- tuesday 9pm - fully charged, re-flashed tuesday 10pm - some wifi surfing - 20 minutes wednesday 8am - battery 80% wednesday 6pm - some wifi surfing - 20 minutes wednesday 10pm - some wifi surfing - 20 minutes wednesday night 10pm - 50% thursday 7am - 49% and still going. either battery reporting is way off or the n900 is actually sleeping at 0 voltage. (like its supposed to) standby battery life is actually better with original kernel, in fact better than running XLV or near IDEAL profile voltages. i could never get these figures using kernel-power and even when underclocking to 250Mhz - 500Mhz and under exact same conditions as above. seems the n900 is only able to sleep @ 0 Volt using the original kernel, unless titan comes out with a newer kernel (v38 ?) that can sleep @ 0 voltage and run on lower voltage. QUOTE(jananan @ Jul 29 2010, 11:31 AM) You should go buzz titan about your findings, or buzz the guys up at maemo. Something seems funnay that a undervolted kernel doesn't save that much battery and DOESN'T sleep at zero. Maybe your stock kernel has SmartReflex enabled somehow? We need a proper power consumption visualization tool, ala Energy Profiler on symbian, that actually measures device power usage (rather then just the darned battery). But the N900 lacks the sensors, no? This post has been edited by Eiraku: Jul 29 2010, 01:14 PM |
