No more Magentis name.... It shall be known as K5 in Korea and Optima in the rest of the world.

Based on my test drive last Sat, i would expect the FC of the Forte 1.6L in town driving to be high. The pickup is very sluggish and i dread to see how much fuel it would consume in a month.
*
QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Oct 18 2010, 04:55 PM)
Just for info, you guys may or may not know this:

The Forte 2.0L 0-100kmph acceleration is 10.5 secs with 154Hp and 194Nm torque and with a 1326 kg kerb weight.
Much better than the 12.5 secs the 1.6L requires for its 0-100kmph sprint.
*
yawn.gif

We've got enough 1.6 owners here who are satisfied with their FC and acceleration. You don't have to deliberately kutuk the 1.6 for the heck of it.
Don't you ever get bored? Just buy a Forte and join the party, you'll enjoy it even more rather than randomly rambling in our thread.

I only drive a 2003 model 1.5L Toyota Vios and i find the 1.6L Forte to be quite sluggish. Not sure if thats the case with that particular car or do others feel the same too.
*
Hi, the problem is that the Forte 1.6SX comes with 17" rims which is too big for 1.6L engine! Usually 15" for 1.6L (Mazda3, Altis 1.6E), 16" for 1.8L (Civic 1.8, Altis 1.8) & 17" for 2.0L engines (Civic 2.0)

If you put 17" heavy rims on the Vios, you will feel the same effect as the Forte. biggrin.gif

I also experienced very bad sluggishness and thought it was something to do with the ECU (the car didn't like to downshift). I took it to the service center and got the throttle cable tightened up and suddenly the sluggishness was gone (at least most of it). The tighter cable sort of made the car more responsive.

The interesting thing was that my FC went from ~8L/100km to ~10L/100km for normal driving after the so-called "tuning". I suspect that my right foot became "itchy" after the car became more responsive blush.gif

It won't be as lively as a lightweight Vios but it would not be that kind of feeling like it "can't move" at all, especially small hills, etc (assuming that's what you meant as "sluggish").

8-9l/100km = HW
11-13l/100km = city
9.5-10.5l/100km = 50%HW, 50%city

Mine roughly like that. Just for reference.

last weekend, i went along jln kapar (klang), 16 inch rim seem like quite less choices, and they quoted me ard RM 1-1.2K including rims & tyres and my current millage is 13k, don't worth it or not. But 17 inch rim seem vy vy nice and alot of choices drool.gif

Last week so unlucky, kena caught by JPJ, because of dark tinted, but luckly managed to escaped without treat any kopi, haha...

You won't regret your choice rclxms.gif ....

As for tyres...I personally think you should try out the 17" before you decide whether to change. Got to admit that the handling "turning feel" was so much different....now I know why people like to choose low profile tyres cool2.gif

Anyway, after ~8 months I got too annoyed by the harshness and noise so I changed to 16". I traded in for second hand 16" rims (some scratches but not dented) and added in RM1.5k.

Difference between the two....215/45/R17 and 205/55/R16. It's about 1% larger in diameter...
