QUOTE(tehoice @ Jul 16 2010, 01:21 PM)
why would you wan to downgrade your car and compare it with a cheaper or lower segment? your car is same segment as civic, altis, M3 and some other same segment cars.

do check out the Autocar Magazine for July issue, there is a head to head comparison between forte 1.6 and city E spec. actually forte 1.6 loss out a little bit u know?

0-100km/h - City wins a little bit than forte 1.6.
fuel efficiency - city also gives better FC than forte 1.6
top speed - forte is 190 km/h and city 180 km/h. (how often you will/ can hit this speed???

just to highlight a few as i cant remember what else is in there.
there's a small column talking bout dugong TRD.

do check it out first. those are official data collected. yours/ others views tends to be bit biased and you may not see the overall picture.  hmm.gif
*
1 more you all left out...the engine's emmision standard....
City ald use Euro 4 standard....yet Forte still use Euro 3
that's where City wins big time....

Wht is the City FC ? Forte 7.1(spec)?
*
i can say City FC are well balance between City drive and HW drive...
H.City is more into City driving, that's why the 'City' was named for...
so, can say...FC works better in City...
Forte in the other hands, works better in HW drive, coz the CC is larger...1.5 vs. 1.6/2.0
in city, which now i m driving, FC is good, compare to old AE101..
but of coz, dun compare 2 N.Grand Livina 1.8 auto(obviously i dunno y dat car FC was sooo good even in City driving)

QUOTE(orang2 @ Jul 17 2010, 03:59 PM)
The FC on my 1.6ex seems significantly higher.  sad.gif
In my two recent 100% highway journeys, the readings show

1) 6.8 l/100km (with 70-100 kph, 2 orang, just before 1st 1K service, to LCCT)
2) 7.6 l/100km (110-140 kph, 2 orang+40kg barang, after 1K service using mineral oil, from Ipoh to KL on PLUS toll-to-toll non-stop near mid-night)

Are these within expectation? Any comments on the higher FC, especially the 2nd one?

Use BHP 95 all along. My FC for urban driving around 11-13 l/100km.

The car is fitted with BK (from Naza, along with 15" alloy rims). Does it cause higher FC?
*
1.6SX suppost have the best FC among these 3 classes....
mayb coz of u hard footer type, so can makan minyak...and at ipoh mountain road...nid use shiftronic better...

anyone care to have a review between 2.0 Forte vs 1.6 SX? cant find any review like this in the internet. Any car owner that can share this?
*
personally, i would go for 2.0SX....juz too bad, is out of my budget
and also if i would, i would take the 1st batch of 2.0SX(Fully CBU), coz the cushion for 2.0SX 2nd batch sucks hard....prefer 1.6SX fabric anyway..

The leather seat is hard, compare to fully CBU 1st batch 2.0 leather seat...which is very comfy

QUOTE(izputra @ Jul 19 2010, 02:17 PM)
Good reasons buying the 2.0 :

1. more power
2. 6 airbags
3. leather seats
4. auto-cruise control
5. motor driven (electric) power steering
6. drive-by-wire throttle system

Bad reasons buying the 2.0 :  tongue.gif

1. more downpayment
2. more monthly installment
3. more insurance premium
4. more (higher) road tax to pay
5. more FC (if mainly on city driving)

well i could say that leather seats r nt as gd as 1st batch....

yup, i believe resale value will b abit better than EX, or mayb the same...
why i choose this 1.6SX?? yup, worth for money and more features....
if u said comfort being compromised, i would say u're mistaken...it's still comfortable...
the only cause that the noise produce while running on the road is bcoz of low profile tyres....anyway, nt so loud at all...still consider ok...driveable...
FC tend to be higher yes, due 2 the 17'' rim...5 of them include spare 1...stiff?? it makes u feel real good gripping ability, as for cornering was better than EX i suppost...
i hvn't change to michelin/yokohama yet....i will use this tyres till it's worn....

QUOTE(sallehsi @ Jul 19 2010, 03:12 PM)
i agree DBW is relatively new technology..but imho, cable throttle is still relevant and effective, not yet obsolete. its standard. if u ask me, if i can choose between wire or cable, i would choose the later. its good to hear the BLM can offer DBW system, but as we all know the DBW have a few drawbacks (even from big car manufactures).its new, but still not a 'win' features. some of the drivers in oversea even change their DBW back to cable throttle. my 2 cents.
*
can explain DbW and DbC pros and cons??
