QUOTE(vreis @ Jul 29 2010, 11:53 AM) Why is it the English cant play yet Slovak can when both of the countries only reached 2nd round of WC? Is it English players more of a commodity? Cole & Carra not even played all the matches but Skrtel did. WELL, gerrard did have a better WC (over his other england teammates), carra + gerrard over the course of the whole season more often than not puts over 110% scousers bravery |

QUOTE(CrossFirE @ Jul 29 2010, 12:05 PM) 2am broAdded on July 29, 2010, 12:13 pmHodgson: Cole and Gerrard won't play! Roy Hodgson admitted there was little chance of Steven Gerrard and Joe Cole playing in their Europa League qualifer. Hodgson travelled to Macedonia for his first competitive match in charge of the Reds with a makeshift squad. Gerrard, Cole and fellow England World Cup players Jamie Carragher and Glen Johnson were among the notable absentees for the third qualifying round first leg against FK Rabotnicki having only recently returned to training. Alberto Aquilani, Lucas, Sotirios Kyrgiakos, Martin Skrtel, Daniel Agger and David Ngog were among a handful of recognised senior players to make the trip. Hodgson said: "We were never close to that because they have only been training for four days. "It would have been folly to try to play 90 minutes' football in an important competition in difficult conditions with players who have only been training for four days. "We have pressed one or two players into service who were back one or two days earlier than that but in an ideal world we would not have used any of the players that played in the World Cup. "But, quite frankly, we are not in a strong enough position to do that." Javier Mascherano and Maxi Rodriguez, who returned to training this week, were also missing while Fernando Torres, Jose Reina, Ryan Babel and Dirk Kuyt are still on holiday. The match, coming 17 days before the Reds' Barclays Premier League opener, has presented Hodgson with a difficult situation. Hodgson, who guided Fulham to the final last season after entering at the same stage, has to try to guide his side through while relying on inexperienced players. The likes of Diego Cavalieri, Martin Kelly and Jay Spearing are all likely to get an opportunity. The 62-year-old said: "All competitions are important to the season. "It's the first competitive game I have been able to have with the club. "It would have been nice if the game was played later and we were able to play what we feel is our strongest team but we can't. "But it is still a very important game and I hope the players we will give the confidence to play in this game and represent Liverpool will be able to do a good job." Technically, I do not know what is going on.RH sold Insua, Riera and now trying to ship out Maxi without even getting a replacement beforehand.
What's on his mind? Maxi out? Seriously? WTH |

Liverpool grabbed Milan Jovanovic & Joe Cole for free.
Liverpool signed Wilson for 2.5 million + . Where is the money we got from Benayoun/Riera/Insua? Do we have "transfer kit" after all? If we have "transfer kit", we should have 20-30 millions now. It seems we couldn't spend much on new players. It seems we're struggling to sign big names due to budget. It seems we have to opt for Uncle Young. And we're just weeks away before the EPL starts. Darn!!!! This post has been edited by ALeUNe: Jul 29 2010, 02:46 PM |

hmm skrtel is included probably because last season he was injured and didnt really got involved in many matches, hence carra n gerrard n johnson is rested longer compared to him, for cole, i think rh is just trying to protect him or give him a much better platform to debut as he is so far our big signing or rather the marquee signing, and thats for free
maxi i think is surplus to requirements in rh's mind as we have jova cole babel n kuyt on the wings so is there any live on astro today ? |

I am amazed at the ignorance of some of the posters here. Shooting the mouth off without engaging the brain (you know who you are). Also, like what duke pointed out, if you think nothing was done, you might want to check your facts before saying anything. At this very moment, SOS is in full swing, to the point of setting up overseas branches (unfortunately, a clash of legal rights means we are unable to set it up here, we were talking to them), there's also another movement in selling protest jerseys, again Malaysia was involve in that, it was supposed to be printed in Malaysia before they decided to print it elsewhere.
A simple "protest shirt - Liverpool" search will get you lots of different websites, while SOS, Save Liverpool group at facebook, there are lots of things being done. it is YOUR naivety that is sad, by complaining and shooting off like an idiot, which wrecks the good name of ALL Liverpool fan! Next time, please think before you say anything. Knob head! |

I m hoping that Insua's wage demand will prove to be a stumbling block for Fiorentina's deal to go through...Then, we probably can save that 2.5m buying an uncle...
Hopefully, the report is true. |

I'm not buying the stuff about Eredivisie is inferior & not that demanding, they still play competitive rite. Putting ur reason Skrtel is included, Gerrard & Cole also miss a big chunk of the season, in theory at least should be fresher than most. BTW Jonno, ur avatar is pretty distracting |
