Radeon HD6800 seems to be pretty long. I doubt it's same length as Radeon HD5850 and Radeon HD5870 respectively.

I can't imagine if Radeon HD6900 is even longer. OMG.

To FLASH BIOS of a GPU, it carries risks definitely.
If you want to play safe, I recommend you to use MSI Afterburner to OC your GPU. It allows you to OC heavily even without flashing the BIOS to ASUS's(not as gay as MSI) or MSI's(heaviest OC available).

Out of topic question..

Has anyone here doing a 5870 crossfire and add an extra physx card on a rampage 2 extreme?

Can it be done? Can fit or not? TQ

should be easy with nvidia single slot cards. dual slot cards would depends on your case. need a case with more than 7 pci expansion slot.

Tq bro. I've already check my board. And yes , i think my case would fit 2x double pcie and 1x single pcie card. What i am afraid is,the backplate of the 2nd 5870 would touch the first 5870 and maybe would make the 1st card warmer than usual. Any solutions. Tq all
p/s. Watercooling is out of my league tough.

yo...

my bro at Egypt ask this.
based on his budget and availability of gc, it boils down to 2 cards
Is it worth to get normal 460 or custom 5770. icon_question.gif
I know 460 is faster, but the problem is when its summer, it gets really hot there.

So, is it better to buy custom cooler 5770 or normal 460?
Or surrounding heat is negligible?

asked this on nvidia thread with no aswers cry.gif
hope amd thread ppl more friendly and helpful

thanks in advance notworthy.gif

I dont think the Nvidia GTX460 is as hot as the rest of the 400 series..

Power consumption also just abit more than a 5770 smile.gif

u can save up to 5 setting and theres an option to load the profile of ur desired clock/mem setting upon startup.

Flashing bios is risky. I admit it. But for the extra oc like what asus offer from their 5870 card, cant be achieved using oem bios. Thus like what an old malay saying says. Clap chest, ask appetite. Kehkehkeh. Sorry for my "engrish".

Not only that but even HD 69XX have higher TDP and die sizes compared to previous generation..

I wonder how it will turns out.. sweat.gif

High TDP means nvidia will be able to produce 500 series without caring TDP already since AMD is now offering almost the same TDP as nvidia. ( Possible ) nod.gif

I guess the price should be around RM1.1k for 6950, and RM1.5k for 6970. Oh ya 6970 might exceed RM2k which is not surprised for me. I guess by moving from 5000 series to 6000 series, it seems like it is not worth due to high TDP as well. doh.gif

Nvidia has always had the problem with TDP, temperature and power usage issue. Let see what Nvidia will offer when they released 500 series on December. brows.gif

if the 3dmark score is true, and assume that the real time performance of this 6850 and 6870 is relatively same with 3dmark performance,
i believe these 2 cards will be the next best bang for the buck?

6850 and 6870's tdp i guess will be quite low as well, looking at 6850 will only require 1x6pin

if you need to flash your bios, just flash to msi bios. i am using msi's 5850 bios on my sapphire, no problem and i get full voltage control. up to 1.35V that is smile.gif

Alamak, dekat lah rumah kita bro..hahahaha..buleh nak test run bro punya racing wheel nanti...hahaha

BTW, why do you want to flash ur gainward?? For me,the purpose of the flashing is the voltage tweak function.

Dont flash it just for nothing bro..just my 2cent
