The D90 is a digital single-lens reflex camera model announced by Nikon on August 27, 2008. It is a "prosumer" model (cross between professional and consumer) meant as a replacement for the Nikon D80. It is also available with the newly announced Nikkor AF-S DX 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR kit lens.
Some of the improvements the D90 offers over the D80 include 12.3 megapixel resolution and live view capability. The D90 is also notable for being the first DSLR to offer video recording, with the ability to record HD 720p videos, with mono sound, at 24 frames per second (for up to 5 minutes or 20 minutes for smaller videos).

How to know whether your camera is brand new? Best to do this test before you make payment.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
1. For brand new camera, the very first time you switch on your camera, it should ask you to set the language, region, date and time.
2. Even if you reset the camera, the language, region, date and time will remain un-reset. So best way to guess it is brand new camera, is by seeing those screens.
How to detect Dead/Hot Pixel on your sensor? Best to do this test before you make payment.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
1. Put your Lens Cap on.
2. Set to Manual focus.
3. Disable AutoISO. Manually set ISO to 3200.
4. Take a photo.
5. View the image from your camera. Zoom in a little.
6. Try to spot blue/red/green dots. If it is there. Congratulations! You have got Dead/Hot Pixel.
What to do if you have Dead/Hot Pixel on your sensor?
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
Option 1:- 1. Send to Nikon Service Centre. They will remap it for you. This process might take up to 10 days.
2. Remapping doesn't guarantee to solve the problem permanently. The Dead/Hot Pixel might appear again in the future.
Option 2:- 1. Live with it. It is only a few pixel out of the millions of pixel.
2. Take photos in NEF (Nikon RAW).
3. Use Adobe LightRoom / Nikon Capture NX to process the photo from NEF (Nikon RAW) into JPEG. Both the software will auto remove the Dead/Hot Pixel when export NEF (Nikon RAW) to JPEG. No need to do any settings. Basically, just import NEF (Nikon RAW) -> export to JPEG. Dead/Hot pixel will be removed automatically in the JPEG.
4. Wait until your warranty is about to be over. Send it for remapping and cleaning.

3. Set to A mode. Set Apperture to F22 or greater.
4. Find a plain white & bright surface (eg. Blank A4 Paper, Wall, Sky, etc).
5. Zoom in and take a photo.
6. View the image from your camera. Zoom in a little.
7. Try to spot dots. If it is there. Congratulations! You have got Dust.
How to remove Dust from your sensor?
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
Option 1:- 1. Live with it, if the Dust is not obvious in all the images.
2. You can ignore it or use post processing to remove the dots manually.
Option 2:- 1. The Dust gets too many, and you are tired of post processing, so...
2. Send to Nikon Service Centre. They will clean it for you.
Option 3:- 1. You get tired of going to Nikon Service Centre all the time, so...
2. Clean it yourself. This can be risky if you do not have the right tools and know what you are doing.
3. Below are some good info on how you can remove Dust from your sensor:-
5. Find the entry 'Total Number of Shutter Releases for Camera'. The value represents the shutter count.
Which SDHC memory card should you go for?
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
For 8GB, Nikon D90 can take up to 539 NEF (Nikon RAW) files. For 16GB, Nikon D90 can take up to 1114 NEF (Nikon RAW) files.
If you plan to take in JPEG mode, the number of files will be more than double the amount of NEF (Nikon RAW) files. That is really a lot for normal day2day shooting or short trip.
So what is recommended? My personal opinion is go for 8GB, SDHC (30MB/s edition). Take note of the logo on the SDHC memory card. Don't be confused by 30MB/s Edition and 20MB/s Edition.
Now, let's say you need more capacity / have more money? Should you go for 16GB? A lot of people would advise that you should not put all the eggs in one basket. Same advise can be applied here. It would be advisable to have multiple SDHC memory card rather than 1 big capacity. This is just in case it got corrupted, not all photos are lost and you still have another SDHC memory card with you to use.
It would also be recommended to format your SDHC memory card (from your camera) every time after you have access it from a computer.

SanDisk Extreme 3 SDHC 30MB/s memory cards : SanDisk set a new speed record of 30 megabytes per second for Secure Digital flash memory cards with the introduction of the SanDisk Extreme III 30MB/s Edition line of SDHC flash memory cards. The new SanDisk flash memory cards, expected to be available worldwide in September in 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities, are designed to deliver peak performance when used with the new digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera, Nikon D90. The Nikon D90 Digital SLR is the industry’s first DSLR camera to support SanDisk Extreme III 30MB/s Edition SDHC cards at increased performance.
Nikon D90 memory card Featuring a 50-percent speed boost from previous 20MB/s cards, the new SanDisk Extreme III 30MB/s Edition SDHC card makes it possible to record 39 images in continuous shooting mode at 4.5 frames per second with a file size of 6.0 MB JPEG L Fine per image. The Nikon D90 camera captures high-resolution, 12.3 megapixel still images, and it is Nikon’s first DSLR to offer movie recording capability.
Advantages & Disadvantages of taking photos in NEF (Nikon RAW)?
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
Advantages:- 1. NEF (Nikon RAW) gives the flexibility and better result for post processing (eg, White Balance, Exposure, etc). If you choose to do post processing on JPEG, the output might not be as good as from NEF (Nikon RAW).
2. If you have Dead/Hot pixels, with Nikon Capture NX / Adobe LightRoom, the conversion from NEF (Nikon RAW) to JPEG will auto remove the Dead/Hot pixels (without any need of adjustment). Just import NEF (Nikon RAW) and export to JPEG.
Disadvantages:- 1. Need more storage space on your memory card.
2. Need more storage space on your computer hard drive.
3. Need some time to post process from NEF (Nikon RAW) into JPEG.

How to convert NEF (Nikon RAW) to JPEG easily?
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
1. I've tried a couple of software, and I think the easiest and most user friendly program to do conversion from NEF (Nikon RAW) to JPEG is Adobe LightRoom (commercial software). LightRoom has option to batch convert NEF (Nikon RAW) to JPEG easily. It also allows batch post processing.
2. Run LightRoom.
3. Import NEF (Nikon RAW).
4. If necessary, make adjustment to the image.
5. Export to JPEG.
6. You can do adjustment to all the NEF (Nikon RAW) before exporting to JPEG at one go.
7. You can delete the NEF (Nikon RAW) files since you have the processed it into JPEG output. You can choose to keep those important NEF (Nikon RAW) files for future post processing.

You mean body or kit set? Body price around RM2400~2500, kit around RM3300. You don't really need to check the box, just need to check the nikon warranty card. If it's nikon malaysia set, the distributor will be Nikon Malaysia. Anything other than this are grey set/AP set. My D90 box is HK set but the warranty card is nikon malaysia (and the box got a small sticker written distributed by Nikon malaysia). So it's local set also.

I see. Thanks bro. What about the colour tone? Any example in youtube?
I think to get this kinda tone you should use cross-processing method... which is pretty simple, shoot with color slide film and develop it using C-41 chemical... but results won't be certain as it will differ according to the film u using...
If you're using digicam, edit using photoshop with the RGB curve adjustment... you can adjust the colour to watever u like...
tried that, not nice at all.. haha the hair part very hard to mask out
Haha, aiya, use the brush and use the layer and masking mah...

I think that cover you can use any waterproof cloth to replace, no need to find specifically for camera. Cloth with quality like an umbrella is okay already.
Anyway it's still risky to use a cover or cloth, better use umbrella + cloth (if you have patience and time to set up).

Really wld appreciate if you guys can give advice if RM 3,490 is a good offer for Nikon D90 that comes with a 4GD card, bag, tripod, screen protector and filter? I saw it at the Maybank Treats Fair that ends tis Sunday at Midvalley. The company is under Bintang Maju.
Saw on the forum most of members suggested J-One and I rang them to enquire. They offer RM 3,300 but add 5% cuz I want to pay by instalment plan. whistling.gif
I would go for it once you "pro's" give me good advice.

Thanks a bunch!!
3490 is quite expensive, you can get cash price 3300 at J-One or 3350 at digitalsmania pudu. Not sure about creditcard installment but usually they charge a few %.
Even if J-One charge 5%, it's still RM3465, cheaper than the maybank treats fair. But I would suggest pay by cash though, no much hassle.

No budget to buy in cash...haha!! So have to go with installment. So you think if buy with J-One they would throw in similar free stuff is it?

Perhaps should consider them lo...
Not all shops give the same free gifts, but normally they will just give a bag, screen protector and memory card. Tripod and filter some give some do not. But the free tripod/filter are cheap stuff and not great in quality, you can buy separately BUT don't get conned to buy overpriced stuff.
Overpriced stuff: 1) UV filter: cap ayam UV filters only cost around RM20~40, even though the seller say this is imported from japan, don't believe. Good affordable one is Hoya normal UV filter, around RM50 for 55mm. (bigger size more expensive).
2) wide/tele/fisheye/macro converter: You don't really need these and the Image quality produced sucks. And, overpriced. don't buy at all.
better dun use those free tripods unless you really have to...they are not very stable...you set your camera up on those tripod during your long exposure shot 1 gust of wind come ur tripod shake or worse fall down

Why do u need VR when u have big aperture? All prime lens doesn't have VR

i noticed that u like to take portrait. ever tought of getting urself a nice portrait lens ==> 85mm f1.4D?
Under consideration, thinking between the 85mm f/1.4D or the replacement. But then again, I love my 70-200 at the moment. Minus the fact it is heavy and not so portable.

Hi guys, I just went to Jusco Wangsa Maju to ask about the D90 kit, with Bag, 8BG card, and Tripod, it's RM3,888. But they say since I'm a regular customer they will sell to me for RM3,600 not less. I told them now prices drop to as low as RM3,100 for original set. But they told me for that price it is NOT the original set. Is this true? Plus they say the prices came up a bit already. I like that shop, I bought all my cameras, and accessories from there, and nearer to my place too. Any advice?

Nope, use CPL only when you need it. Other times, use a UV filter or don't use any.
hey celciuz, do you Tell the models what to do or you just keep snapping? lol.
If situation allows then I will be instructing . Else just find another model wandering around one for photoshoot . (Durian event la that is haha~) If my own photoshooting then I'll be instructing unless model got their own pose they wanna shoot.
so this durian event you just walk ard looking for models and they'll be like pose ready dy? hahaha. i dunno how to instruct models. ><
No, there's like 40 photogs and 9 models total. So basically, some models will be hanging around cause no photog shooting them since they go concentrate one the rest mah. So what else? , go drag them aside then get them posing xD. But usually after that the other photogs comes for the shots too.
It is not RM3100 for local set, about RM3300 is considered ok. RM3600 -> expensive!
I read in another forum you can get from Lowyat Plaza original set for RM3,100! I know RM3,300 is a good price already. Where can I find that price? Which shop exactly? I don't know the way to Lowyat plaza.

lol. i just got back from J-One! hahaha. my bro bought a second hand 580 EX II. i was there looking for vintage equipment. found a minolta that fits my sr but it had fungus and the zoom was sticky. sigh. maybe nxt time i'll be more lucky.
got it! thanks! i'll use your photos as references too if you dnt mind. hehe.
I think you should prolly get what you need. You don't really stack them all together do you? I mean.. what do you usually take?
UV could be used for protection at most. CPL.. well.. when u need it..
close up.. u doing macro? ON THE SIDE NOTE! I'm going to be more active now that I'm free ady. For just a few weeks before I go inactive.. AGAIN
lol i not stacking up 3 together... but with this 3 different filter...is it ok for me to do indoor/outdoor shooting? macro...sometimes if there is something attractive...might be using it...because i'm not a hardcore user on macro...so not getting a macro lens... the CPL and ND8 good for landscape shooting right? so i think is enough with this 3filter right?
im very excited and try to learn how to take a good picture with the kit lens, but always got bad picture and delete it.
then i read about the shutter count and the 100k shutter or sumthin (eventhough don't really understand).
just afraid if i reach the 100k faster and need to change the shutter at nikon SC. T_T
from my thinking lar...
before you snap a pics....you have to know what you want to snap, what you'r snap-ing, the surrounding, the subject/object you'r snapping
try to look and read mroe tutorial and guide..i'm sure there some here if i'm not mistaken.....or maybe you could try get some photography magazine like DCM
Know what you want to take...Imagine it in your mind or Snap it in your mind then see the obj/subj again and then snap lor...this might take long process but when time goess on u will eventualy don even need to as you already know what you want to take
Anyway practice mroe shoot mroe see more read mroe...practice make perfects...upload some of your pics here so other may comment about it and you can learn from their comments....some maybe harsh abit..but we'r all learning mah..sharing is caring

I just bought new d90 3days ago in lowyat n still a newbie, my shutter count already 1097. is it very high??? T_T
you must've shot lotsa stuff. I took out the D90 fresh from its box few weeks ago the morning I went to Perhentian Island and when I came back on the third day, shutter count was about 700 only. until now should've passed 1k, din really keep track though.
reach 100k shutter count then must go service mia ka?

Depends on luck, my friend's old 30D last about 250k shutter. But then got effects also... can't shoot at 1/8000, cause it will be the same as about 1/2000 instead LOL. Basically the shutter will wear out and can't shoo that fast anymore.
Why do u need VR when u have big aperture? All prime lens doesn't have VR
Not true. Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 Micro lens has VR. It is a prime lens.
Whether or not the lens has VR has nothing to do with the wide aperture.
Normally the shorter the focal length, the less likely you will need a VR.

Hi All icon_question.gif ,
Really wld appreciate if you guys can give advice if RM 3,490 is a good offer for Nikon D90 that comes with a 4GD card, bag, tripod, screen protector and filter? I saw it at the Maybank Treats Fair that ends tis Sunday at Midvalley. The company is under Bintang Maju.
Saw on the forum most of members suggested J-One and I rang them to enquire. They offer RM 3,300 but add 5% cuz I want to pay by instalment plan. whistling.gif
I would go for it once you "pro's" give me good advice.
Thanks a bunch!!
J-One is still the cheapest place I can get all my camera stuff, especially it is nearer than Pudu, Sungai-Wang to where I live.

Alamak.. Still playing the 'choose number' game? Hehe when are the D90 related discussion gona start?
Anyone using the old 105mm micro (non-VR version back there)? I'm still trying to grab a hold on the focus.. Using f2.8 isn't bright enuff IMHO
Never shoot micro using this lens with f/2.8, unless you are shooting portraiture with this lens. Shooting so close to a small subject, the depth of field is so narrow that a breath you take while holding the camera, it will be out of focus. When shooting Micro, make sure use aperture f/8.0 and above, plus f/8 is the "sweet-spot" of this lens where the focusing is the sharpest.
If using f/2.8 is still not bring enough, then invest in a SB900/600, else boost up your ISO to 400 or 640.

what are the short/best way to do HDR..
Shoot the pictures (mostly landscape) with your D90 with bracketing, strongly recommending fix your D90 on a stable tripod.
Bring home your pictures, download GIMP application. It's free. This Image Manipulation software can help you to overlap the pictures taken using bracketing. It has the similar feel and look as the expensive Photoshop, assuming you would buy original. ;-)
I guess you used Auto WB for all those model shots. This was an indoor and full of flourescent light sources.
Your pic gonna look a bit bluish....the model's skin tone does not look natural.
Here's what you can do with your D90: - Use SB900 to illuminate the models. - Use Custom WB = 5500K, this will restore back the skin tone, if not, then will make it fairer, rather than bluish (like a Na'vi).

mayb flare due to cheapo filter...
Buy only good UV filter like HOYA.
For me, I only put UV filter on when there is a risk of kids playing around, touching your camera stuff. Other times, I just remove it, to get better optical quality. Don't shoot into the light source or sun. Apply lens hood.

Most shop owners won't let you snap a few shots with the brand-new camera body taken from the shelf. Because the value of the camera drops if the shutter count is not zero anymore.
They can let you hold it and feel it, without the batteries.

nikon owner got no much different, but the canon owner did not get their 1+2 warranty
i think that's not much different...it's like ori n ap... it's better you get ap set rather than getting 2nd hand ap set did you realize that when you first start open the camera..you have to do setting first?

but luckily in this grey camera set, the camera is ori just got problem with the warranty.
They set it for me, doesnt see what are they doing after unboxing it.
go google grey market and see what does it mean. from my understanding ap is a complete duplicate including the compartment inside, but grey set camera just bought from other country brought here by the unautherised nikon reseller and sell here in malaysia.
in that case it just the warrnty problem... not ap.
so your is thailand it mean it is original set from thailand but not msia?
not really.
for example, nikon malaysia also made in thailand, then sell in malaysia. people gnna buy this camera here and bring it to other country lets say germany and sell it there. that camera called grey set cuz not cover by nikon germany, so anything happen gnna send to nikon malaysia.
Em now I'm more concerned on my skills. My super n00b and un-beautiful pics More than worrying bout the gears as much I'm afraid that by the time my warranty expires, I won't have much to show, even brag to others

so it's like more of imported set? and how to know it is grey set or ap set? feel like more blur...just now saw some thread...the person say he buy everything is grey set because cheaper LOL but lucky nothing bad happens

i strongly thinks that there is no such thing as ap dslr, cuz do not find anything on the internet. to diffrentiate it, need to ask the seller to show 1st the warrnty card, make sure the warnty card from nikon.
i found the link from nikon website but already closed it. sorry...
theres few shops selling Nikon Malaysia set & yet do offer kedai extended warranty as well (optional & additional charges imposed). - eg. 1yr Nikon Malaysia warranty + additional 1 or 2 yrs kedai warranty
no need to worry lol, their performance is the same, diffrent is only the warrnty issues.
btter wrry how to increase our skill lol.
but, do the grey set carry the same accessories in the box with the ori set? the charger, batter.. even the manual? as far as i concern, most grey set got different manual? got cd or not? me donno.. mine all nikon malaysia set..

What about the battery? How to verify the originality? But what about the warranty..can we insist they show us and stamp the warranty card before we leave the premise? what other suggestions? Huhuhu..sorry for the so many questions...planning to get one soon.. Thanks

Either that, or judge from the histogram. This one the most accurate as it doesn't care if your LCD is calibrated or not. The histogram appears the same all over.
erm, just see it looks dark lor, proper exposure would be something like this:

btw, how to read histogram ah? lol i only know it can't be edged up too high at both ends.

Yeah. Full histogram from left to right. Btw, my friend told me that D90's screen should be set as -2. That's how the actual picture output would be. Is it true?

Histogram only serve as a guide, any clipping on either edges means there is lost details due to shadows or highlights. But of course, there is no histogram that will suite all images. It depends on what you want .
I usually use highlight preview to see if I've blown any or not.

then D5000 is little D90? y not? even UWA, macro, or super telephoto lenses cab be use as portrait lens there's no reli specific portrait lens, its up to ppl's preference 50 f/1.4 @ f/2.8 is way sharper than 70-200 @ f/2.8 i guess @ f/1.4 vs 70-200 @ f/2.8 then im dun thk so...
Frankly, I don't see if the 50mm f/1.4 @ f/2.8 is sharper than the 70-200 at f/2.8 or not. LOL, can't see the differences. But one thing, the 70-200's color is superior
Sharpness, you may see my pics . Mostly shot at f/2.8, if bump to f/4 even better xD.

Wide lens for portrait
Your 70-200mm is super duper sharp already, even wide open . I think i just get 70-300mm VR first to quench my thirst for 70-200 F/2.8

i dunno oso, jz base my guess on normally, "normally" i meant, primes r sharper than zooms
QUOTE(SoLiD @ Jul 13 2010, 09:29 PM)
ooo buy AF-D or AF-G?
no money la T.T now in internship..collecting money..
AF-D has no built in AF motor in lens, so unless ur body has a motor you have to manual focus. Older Nikon body and entry level body has no AF motor in their body...so if they use AF-D have to manually twist the focus ring to focus.
AF-G has a built in AF motor, it can AF in all nikon body
some say AF-D is better, some say AF-G is better, afaik i r haz no money so i r buy AF-D
i dunno oso, jz base my guess on normally, "normally" i meant, primes r sharper than zooms dun get AF-G, very racist lens
Correct, 50mm f/1.4 versus 16-85 maybe.. but if you compare to the professional grades, 24-70 or 70-200 type... I don't think they that noticeable sharper. Probably the same or so. I don't have a 50mm f/1.4 so I don't know =/.

ya, quite rite but if 85mm f/1.4 vs 70-200 leh?

Don't care already ...I don't care whether i cant AF or not...I will set my mind on that lil 50mm!!!
u havent seen Sigma 50mm price ya, quite rite but if 85mm f/1.4 vs 70-200 leh? ooo, poison shield break?
no lar just that all the while i wanted to get that 50mm but kenot AF on it mah..so i cancel up the plan...then i saw that 35mm also not bad woh ....but but now after see-ing 50mm is in my budget...so why not...train up my MF
sifus, i'm back!.. this time i need helps .. i'm having my photography class in my college. now i'm having my photography final. It need me to think of a theme for my final, wat in my mind are, model shooting, B&W shooting.. and etc.. and idea or concept to help me.
i dun think any dslr got fake product...its not exactly easy to make and not a very large market compare to mobile phone which every1 needs..
only gray sets which are imported by the shop rather than through Nikon malaysia
but then... he told me that if/when seller provide you the warranty paper of his own shop instead of (whatever) warranty card...it mean the camera is fake.. PS i using grey set also...
camera shop provided warranty means the shop bring in their own from Nikon HK, meaning they dint pay Nikon malaysia for the set, and thus no warranty from Nikon malaysia.
almost every d90 user here has their set from Nikon HK because that is Nikon HQ for SEA la i think...
walao...my friend ah...scary 1...i explain to him like this: grey set is something like that la bro... like i'm msian but i travel to indonesia... then i saw d90 at there and is cheaper than msia... so i bought 5sets of d90 from there and take to msia sell it... thus it is cheaper than msia set because might be taxes charges but still original... does my statement correct?lol...
but he still kind of disagree with me...

i think all nikon shud be made in thailand...and all is hk set??? someone can clarify this?? coz from what i know, grey set or not...the warranty paper there still have wrote hk...

improve ur skill then shoot some amazing pic show ur fren shut him up
further more sooner or later if u keep playing in photography u gonna wanna upgrade to FX, lens are more important than the bodies...
Added on July 14, 2010, 12:24 amlol if he worry so much about gray set ask him go J-One la.. 100% confirm original set. The shop is even listed in Nikon Malaysia website as a distributor plus the shop also very friendly..

hey guys help me on it leh hehe im really wanna get one d90 for myself and i need fellow sifu to guide me thru my purchase
if you budget is flexible...then you got a lot choice for the lens liao... lens you prefer third party lens or nikon lens?
first time user better jz go with kit lens, can do landscape at 18mm np
for macro maybe get raynox 250 adapter then if u feel you need more then invest a dedicated macro lens later
mid-range zoom is best for beginner la...dun go for dedicate lens like macro or UWA or fisheye yet...get use the the camera first then invest later on...
basically its a camera body with a lens comes in 1 box. Good price would be around RM 3300 here in KL, i heard last time a few shop offer this price in penang also...
usually comes free gift like filter / bags / tripods / upgrade memory card to bigger capacity (standard is 4gb) / etc
i use 18-200mm sigma as a starter...affordable my warranty paper write his own company shop name cannot lar as a friend...i cant do so cruel thing to him..maybe someday he will in love with dslr world leh...i also keep poisoning him with those pic taken by pros...but then when he read about something about grey set...he already lost confidence liao
18-200 not so good as i heard ppl complaint about the IQ are soft at 200mm... i did not mean the chop lah..u turn over and read those tiny word...i think u will see the hk word somewhere at btm right... lolx...but then y doesnt he lost confidence on handphone?? handphone grey set,ap set,"water stock" aso got...

there are many lens on market but u wont use them all...unless u super duper rich... seeing ur case..i suggest that u buy D90+kit lens is enough...the kit lens is sufficient for you for now...as for macro, you can buy raynox 250 adapter...

he just said j-one doesnt have grey set... anyways, lens doesnt have grey set as all lens are international warranty...
Guys, I bought a Meike grip 2 weeks ago. Now my friend needs money, he asked me whether I want to trade in for his original Nikon grip or not. He never used it before. Asked me to add RM150. Should I? Or it's the same thing?

^@dri@n, Haiyah u..beli kitlens cukup ma.. Use what u got, fully utilise it.. Then if u think u need more then by all means... Upgrade! If u want lanscape, buy UWA U want macro? Get SP90 lah.. There's no 'all round' lens that's that good yet.. Except when they manufacture 16-300mm f1.4 then buy that.. But I think it'll be the size of a bucket and will definitely costs 20k+++!
I know ur concerns.. But trust me.. U get well with ur kitlens and built the skill from there.. U should know, that photography is NOT all about lenses.. Its about applying what u know with what u got.. Even if u got the best macro lens but all u shoot is the same pics of insects/aphids etc then it's simply not worthed so.. Stick with kitlens 1st. It's there for a reason..
^Ifaan, I don't think 'wrench' will do the job.. Mostly use allen keys (:
^FaezFarhan Its the same function actually But Nikon's much more xpensive If u like to own Nikon's then RM150 is totally worthed!
I personally like his style and light control. If you're planning to do model shooting, you better produce something like this. Else I think you probably won't be able to impress your lecturer.
That's the spanner wrench. it's specially designed for lenses. you see properly right, even on your uv filter, there're these two little grooves on the circumferences directly opposite each other. you use the wrench spanner to open it. but of course uv filter usually dnt need la. the elements inside uses the same grooves.

but since D90 has a built in motor so now a bad idea to get D huh? plus it's a lot cheaper. lol

whoa his night portraits are awesome, how the heck to get such photos hmm..
Check his exif long enough and you will see he use from D80 all the way to D3 haha. Thing is, some of his pics are with D80 + 18-55 kit lens. And yet, the image is superb.
