assuming life span is not the issue here? will there be hacking of wall involved? or simply installing a switch that comes with the dimmer and loop it with the compatible LED lights? i am really noob....  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif

im a noob too,so not sure..to install dimmer switch i think u need to hack the walls right..unless u buy those pplug-in dimmers which i think would still require u to plug it into a socket that is somehow looped to the lighting wire.anyhow i think u still need to make a hole in your wall

yes but if bulb is dimmer compatible, I think only need to hack another plug point near to the light switch, not a big job... maybe just pay RM100+ to drill the hole for you, or DIY

I need advice for my led downlight setup in my room:
For masterroom 15x18x10ft, i plan to have 3+3 downlights
For bedroom 16x10x10ft, i plan to have 2+2 downlights

Currently I considering 3 types of LED downlights:
1. Aztech-lite, 4" 11W 4000k 950lm (~RM90) PF>0.9, CRI>85 (thanks to zealles recommendation)
2. GE, 10W 5000k 750lm (~RM99)
3. PAK, 12W 4000k 870lm (~RM130)

I prefer smooth light ambiance + enough brightness for children study, what kind of downlight brightness I should get for the above room sizes?

For my own house, I prefer 20lm psf of general brightness in the bedroom. On top of that I also have task lights for readings. So for a room of 18x15ft, u need around 5400lm. So each LED should give a minimum of 900lm. You will need reading lamps too for the children. I prefer cool white, as daylight is too 'laboratory like' and warm white is too yellowish.

My living hall is about 12' x 9' high, is 12W LED glossy type downlight sufficient? I am using 7 total 12W LED downlight daylight, Taiwan brand.

Please advise.

hi guys,

there was a big booth by YET LED and saw their promotion as below. I've put down a small deposit to lock the prices. I want to check if this brand is ok because the price is quite cheap. If not, I would maybe just buy minimal amount to place at my entrance or foyer only.

Their promotion price was:

12W 6' at RM29
7W 4' at RM19

Normal price is about RM45 - 49 for the 12W.

Do you think the promo price is okay before I confirm a large qty?

Could you share with me the YET LED contact that you lock the price? I missed the promotion. Thought of giving them a call to check can get back the promotion price, if not, when is the next fair they exhibits.

a lot of talk about 4" and above down light. but many ID designed house usually comes with small round 2" or 2.5" down light only, especially for the living room.

if aesthetic is a primary concern, is there any other strong reason not to go with <2.5" down light?

Quite bright already. Color of light affects perception of brightness. Higher temperature will appear brighter.
