No you can't.. see the clips?? they are supposed to hang on to the plaster ceilings..

You can have downlights too but you need a surface mount downlight if you do not have a plaster ceiling. PM me if you want to know more.

Quite bright already.  Color of light affects perception of brightness.  Higher temperature will appear brighter.

HI, Thanks for your advise. I am considering 2 LED Down light

1. Philips 10W, 6500k, Lumen around 600-700
2. Optic LED 13W, 6500k, Lumen around 1000

If bright enough then is ok. I just don't wish after install Philips 10w and has shadow and not enough bright.

I find around 4100K most comfortable to the eyes and it is a good trade-off against brightness. The colors in the house also look more natural and pleasing.

Hi All,
make sure you purchase parts that are stainless steel , instead of steel with chome finishing.
The latter will rust within a few years despite being indoor and kept dry.

See our lighting renovation blog here

Lumen is the brightness. But usually I find about 3000K color quite dim, compared to about 6000K color. Mine can switch 3 colors using same LED, so I can see the difference in the house.

A simple way to check is aluminium metal will sound loud and hollow if you tap with your finger nails. Usually recessed LED light base is aluminium.

white is 5w

warm white 25w

for the drop in brightness in term of lument, is it worthwhile to change from 25w to 5w?
