hi all

wish to find in KL a standing/ table lamp with yellowish light that can give relaxing and cozy ambient in a living room, but at the same time release the least possible heat to the space.

any ideas and recommendation ?
*
brother, if 7w will release 7 w of heat , if 20w will release equivalent of heat.
thats call Thermodynamics, only LED does not have the IR / UV frequency but the heat still there

if you want to have least possible heat, get the lowest wattage for the lumen you need , so the check lumen per watt

has anyone used LED strip as covelights?
is there any light ballast that convert the AC electricity to DC 12V?
*
yes, you can but i have no idea what is the effect on that.
all strip you will need a 240ac to 12v DC inverter, invest on a good one, the china one always fail

Zealless I think LED sure will be less hot than the normal lighting because it depends on what was used to generate the lighting.  For e.g. if you used a 30W incandescent light bulb which uses tungsten filament versus 30W LED.. sure the tungsten light bulb more hot... no??
*
in theory yes

Any idea if the tube of one of the multiple battens linked together spoilt, will the other battens still continue to light up?

Hye, is it possible to install dimmer for T5 lights? I'm using T5 essential batten 21W & 28W. I come to this question since I read in the Philips website that T5 can be dimmable but have to install some ballast named "Mark 10".  Here is the website: http://philipslightingcontrols.com/mark-10-mark-7
*
yes, you can dim T5 using electronic dimmers, better check with the retailer for reliability
usually something doing with dimmer don't last LOL

For my own house, I prefer 20lm psf of general brightness in the bedroom. On top of that I also have task lights for readings. So for a room of 18x15ft, u need around 5400lm. So each LED should give a minimum of 900lm. You will need reading lamps too for the children. I prefer cool white, as daylight is too 'laboratory like' and warm white is too yellowish.

wow, very good in assumption, want a job ?

hi guys, I looking to change my downlight from conventional to LED...

I have 23 nos of 6" square downlights for my house

went to check in Puchong, the shops have alot different product which frm RM 2x all the way to RM 1xx...

the salesman told me their price is expensive because of the quality which the back of the LED is metal (not plastic) good for heat disperse.... got warranty, 1 on 1 exchange bla bla bla

1. Any sifu can recommend where can I get a good LED and what is the price range?

2. Should I really need to change all area or specific area to LED downlight?

3. What is the installation cost per downlight point?
*
1. no standards , i think is depends on the buyer, how bright you want it and how reliable you want it.

2. yes, change to long hours, or else is hard to get ROI within 2 years , if they provide 2 years warranty

3. i heard is about RM12 onwards.

I'm looking for LED strips.. quote me the price for yellow lights 12meters. thx
*
Strip 12v comes in a package of 5 meter, i guess you have to buy 15 meters hahaha
1 pack depends on quality range from 50 (low quality) to 250 (good quality)

you will need transformer, 1 meter approx 14.4w, so you can 187 watt you need a 200w transformer
