what can I do with 1000V DC ? all appliances run in AC...

Added on January 11, 2012, 3:57 pmIf I put in a Solar Panel 50w. Can it power all outdoor light? I have 4 florescent light..

Most efficient CFL is T5, 4ft use 28 Watt, adding losses maybe 35 Watt. You can only power one T5 4ft CFL

But you don't need to switch on light during day time, so you use your Solar to charge storage battery and use it for night time.

Where you get the 1000V DC?

50w solar panel is not enough run your 4 flurosent light.

Solar panel better to use for power 12Vdc LED light.

if you wanna use solar to power any 240Vac things, you gonna need a power inverter which cost a lot of money like this one http://www.mudah.my/Solar+Off+Grid+Inverter-13251953.htm

Solar system come in 12VDC, 24VDC or 48VDC. But at the panel the VDC rating is slighty higher. eg. for 12VDC system, the panel is 18VDC.

12VDC is most common voltage for small setup till 1kw.

Nobody setup a 1000VDC as it is very dangerous voltage. This kind of DC voltage is only apply to heavy industries.

Guys, I need help here, icon_question.gif
My FungShui Led down-lights 9 pcs (on 24 hours), going kaput one by one in the last 3 days. doh.gif
Even though they give me 6 months warranty, I think it won't last looking at the situation. shakehead.gif
Very damaging to the plaster ceiling changing the light all the time. cry.gif
I like the LED casing and hope to retain it.
I heard that if you change the driver it will last.

Any suggestions !!!??? notworthy.gif

Your FS light no more Feng Shui already. Usually is the driver, if is not the driver than your LED light are not meant to switch on 24/7 maybe due to poor heat insulation.

You need to check if its really driver, or the LED itself.

For driver, I don't use LED for long period of time so no comment on 24x7 driver. I only use PC PSU to power up the LED, and other 12v / 5v light I need for testing only.

You need to go back the shop, ask them recommend you a better and reliable driver.

Mine is a 3 watt LED light inside a frosted glass cube/case.
Where to get good driver that can last 24/7.
I heard that LED supposed to last 24/7.

LED can last 24/7 but not for the driver unless you are providing DC source directly then there will be no problem with that. The driver is basically used to convert the AC to DC and hence powered up the LED, each LED consumed 0.02mA only, therefore LEDs are very durable one, only the driver is taking part in the fault, the driver you need to ask the shop for recommendation.

Just to share out my 3Watt LEDs as well, I only on every night (12hours +- per day) biggrin.gif the triangle one is 4Watt while the cube one is 3Watt
All photos took with the following setting

f/5.6, 1/125 Sec, ISO1600, exposure bias: 0

Light too play a part in FS. When the FS master come to check my house, he request to ON all the light in my home.

You buy china LED light where got last long 1.

Another type of driver that can last long is switching power supply. 1pcs can connect to all your LED. But you still have to let some air flow for this power supply. Look for this japanese brand omron. The price is below RM100.

Real "Yang" come from sun light, not from electrical bulb / led.

Alternative, get a PC PSU, "kung fu" and use that as a driver. But need to hide the big PSU box.
