I'm sorry for a noob question. But, i remember not long ago that some seller in garage sales informed me that Samsung F3 is faster than Velociraptor, is it true? Or just marketing gimmick?

7200RPM drives are obviously faster.
And no, F4EG is 5400RPM.

when talking about F3 and the EG.. seriously for normal usage i not found much different on the performance.. transfer alot of files between them seems ok..

so F4EG would be enough for me next..

SATA3 is backward compatible.
The F4EG is still using the SATA2 interface.

SATA II.
And it doesn't matter either ways. No mechanical HDD in existance today could even hit the speeds of SATA II yet, let alone SATA III.

Looking for a new HDD, and looking between, Samsung F3 and F4 ...

The diff between F3 and F4 are:

F3 running on 7200rpm with 32mb BM
F4 running on 5200rpm with 32mb BM

So, would really like to know live review how big is the diff or maybe what is the diff between them since f3 running on 7200rpm

checked on Samsung Website and found that f4 is actually slower than f3 by only 1 sec tongue.gif

*edited, got wrong info.
