To overclock use AMD GPU Clock Tool, my HD7530 is clocked to 850/1250. That is the only clock tool that i found working.
Everytime you wanna play a game after restart you just change the clock manually.
I can play Crysis Warhead on 2nd highest (a.k.a Level 4) setting with 26fps 1080p.

QUOTE(faizpsp89 @ Nov 1 2011, 10:36 PM) I plan on buying Battlefield 3 ..Will it run good on XPS1647? Bad Company 2 was really good at full HD... shouldn't be a problem for Battlefield 3. On another note, lagging like hell on my system received March 2011... every few seconds, Firefox will freeze and you have to wait like half a minute for it to unfreeze. Other applications (PDF, video, Chrome, Windows Explorer) lag like mad. And a lot of Windows Explorer hangs. Will a fresh install fix the problem eh?

guys, i got the Dell XPS 1647 about a year 1 month now because of this forum. It works like charm. the screen and performance impressed me most. but now, I'm looking to settle down with a smaller laptop and planning to get a macbook pro 13"/15" because i need a mac to do my final project on iPhone apps. i will definitely miss the screen on the XPS 16. i didn't know weather i will survive without it. the the question is how much can i get from selling this super awesome XPS 1647? any interested buyers?

thanks.
Any interested buyers just PM me. The laptop is in good condition. No problem whatsoever. The only thing that I changed in this laptop is the RAM. I Upgrade it from 4GB(2x2GB) to 6GB(1x2GB 1x4GB). With box and original restore disk. Reason selling, my course requires me to use a mac to develop apps.

Processor fan is insane. But oh well, the laptop looks nice with a good screen and very few laptops at this price have a backlit keyboard.
I guess the next laptop I have to get is an Alienware. Unless Dell improves their XPS line. Once you get used to Dell's customer service you would not want to suffer with something like Lenovo. And unless you have experience with Asus/HP customer service (since both brands produce laptops whose aesthetics compare to the Studio XPS/XPS)... Dell is surely convenient, if expensive.

Exactly where I head after my Dell Studio XPS 16! Miss my SXPS16, it is a very good laptop though, done everything that I want without fail, not a single problem that I can't solve either. Miss this forum, have been in AW forum most of the time now, hope you guys satisfied with your SXPS 16, like I did.

Fan is active almost all the time, and speeds up very often - especially during the web browser hangs etc. What do you have to do to get a fast laptop nowadays... I thought technology went forward.

Guys I [WTA], is it true that the Dell Studio XPS series laptop has stopped selling?
Now Dell only have Inspiron and XPS (if exclude the Vostro series) no more Studio/Studio XPS?

QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Nov 13 2011, 09:49 PM) Yeah, but the Studio XPS has bad history on its heat management.. Panas Panas Panasa is all I can say Typing on it without a cooler is a nightmare as the keyboard/touch pad area can become hot and uncomfortable. A lot more bearable with laptop cooler but still not comfortable.
