Kiki, do you have your battery plugged in? What is the power supply they give you? 90W? I heard that US already replaced the 90W with 130W power adapter to solve the throttling issue.
Can see the thread gonna be active again once all the people got their last batch of XPS 16. |

Try playing modern games and see if throttling still exist like sudden drop of fps after 10-20mins playing. If it does i hear the power adapter maybe the cause of the problem.
Also there's a A11 bios update. So far i haven't got any modern games to try out. |

Found this page containing the latest drivers for XPS16, just wondering should we install the AMD Mobility Catalyst since the ATI Catalyst we have are quite old. It writes support ATI should we uninstall the ATI Catalyst 1st?

Anyway you guys know what other options other than IDT audio driver?
I found out when i uninstall the IDT my blip "warm up" sound dissapear. But without the IDT i cannot configure 5.1 speakers. Added on May 29, 2011, 7:41 pmAlso i installed the Intel® PROSetWireless WiFi v13.5.0 but after that it shows adapter not found. The wifi still works though just not in Intel My Wifi Technology. Anyway seems many xps16 have this problem but you guys are lucky not to have it.
http://forum.notebookreview.com/dell-xps-s...t-hd-audio.html I just uninstalled the Intel pro wireless as it seems useless on mine. Added on May 29, 2011, 8:48 pmBTW i notice an unremovable smudge or dirt behind the LCD glass, coz i wiped & wiped but it won't go away, it's about 2 pixel big not too noticeable if not looking at white background. Did a quick check it seems it's quite common for this monitor. Not sure if local dell would give you a replacement screen I don't recommend sending it back for "cleaning". My case is not that bad so i guess i'll live with it. If wanna know more can check out here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/dell-xps-s...-my-screen.html If you wanna check whole screen i suggest you output full white on the screen when checking. I'm gonna try starcraft 2 tomorrow and see if there's any throttling going on.
I have compiled some minor problems accumulated so far. Hope Dell Malaysia has same level of service as Dell in USA. |

There's an option to turn off battery charging. I removed it to facilitate better cooling.

Was the timing of black out consistent? If yest maybe due to power saving mode which you can access via Screen Saver -> Power... If no something is wrong.

Try turning off all the enhancement on the Creative Control Panel. If still exist try uninstalling the IDT Audio Codec via Device Manager & delete file, restart computer windows should install HD Audio Codec, see if problem still persist. If still persist it's probably speaker problem.
Happen on both sides of speaker? |

If you are not bothered then we cannot help you if you can't even bother to put your ears to the sides & replay the same songs/movies that's giving you the noise.
Yes by deleting you select the check box that says delete software & driver when you uninstall it. If you don't the IDT will be back again after a while. You have to do it in Device Manager just go to sound & select IDT & Uninstall it totally. You can always reinstall IDT by going to the website & download the latest driver, in my case latest driver still giving me some blip sound. |

I used the XPS 16 display calibration tool plus this:
http://www.photofriday.com/calibrate.php Didn't touch the RGB balance as i felt the default is good enough. |

Try to get both Jpeg & Raw files, and view both Jpeg & Raw files with different viewer. The Jpeg should look similar to the Raw but less detailed.
QUOTE(weingseen @ Oct 12 2011, 03:12 AM) Sorry lee, another new problem arise here. Need you to shed some light here... 2 of my software giving me 2 different RAW images displayed from the same source of image. Digital Photo Professional (Canon's OEM software) and Adobe Lightroom 3 and CS5. What could be the problem here? Also sometimes when I using the Windows Viewer to view some of my RAW image, is it normal for the color to be washed out when the photo finish rendering? Added on October 12, 2011, 12:29 pm ![]() |

To overclock use AMD GPU Clock Tool, my HD7530 is clocked to 850/1250. That is the only clock tool that i found working.
Everytime you wanna play a game after restart you just change the clock manually. I can play Crysis Warhead on 2nd highest (a.k.a Level 4) setting with 26fps 1080p. |
