QUOTE(DeanKueh @ Jun 23 2010, 05:16 PM) well im not mistaken there was someone who posted about meddling with the Digi APN settings for the 3GS cause he had the same issue after upgrading to iOS4.. try searching a few pages backor worse case do a complete restore..that should solve it for you... by the way is it just me noticing that the majority of Iphone Owner that has issue's with iOS 4 after upgrade are the ones that J-Bed their units? in any case...just make sure to restore your phone back to the Original state, delete all the Cydia apps before contemplating to update to iOS4 My point is : if J-BED = RESTORE to original version before update non J-BED = Update away, no backup / restore needed, everything will be there once the OS completes the install. plus iTunes does backup automatically |

after about 2 days using OS 4 on my 3gs,imho i can say tht its not worth to upgrade to 4 frm 3gs unless u rly can afford it
with os 4 on 3gs,the only thing diff frm iphone 4 is the screen,design,vid call,camera and the added gyroscope.performance wise can't say much yet bcoz some apps haven't rly utilized the multitasking but so far the impact is minimal,same goes for batt life but for 3g users i can say its rly a nice upgrade |

After that the MMS option is totally missing in my phone and i cant online by using cellular data. Calling and SMS is working fine. I have back up while it is still 3.1.3 However, after i restore it back to original setting(IOS4), the MMS came back and i can online flawlessly. We have to choose either setup as new phone or restore from back up after the restore, i have chosen restore from back up and the same problem happened again. So now just back up your contacts,photos, notes before your set up as a new phone. And then sync them back. |

just plug in your iPhone into iTunes after the update and iTunes will pull down the IPCC.
you only need to manually key in APN for those telco who are not iPhone partner |

Am i suppose to wait for maxis ipcc or its already there when i upgraded to ios 4..? Becoz you are under the official carrier which do not require you to manually setup the APN.If you die die oso wan to setup pls go to your safari and browse this site and setup your APN manually. http://unlockit.co.nz |

After a few hours of OS4 usage,can say that its pretty cool.The folder option is handy and keeps all your apps neat and tidy.The ibooks is ok,but how many ppl read books nowadays.Other than that ,the rest is pretty same,just that on 3GS,there is a tiny bit of lag compared to the 3.1.3 version.It is quite noticeable.

@meon55
i think you have some old non-Apple files in your backup. cos I updated mine, and its smooth feels like a new phone again |

QUOTE(xaw5126 @ Jun 23 2010, 06:57 PM) @meon55 yeah, same goes here and i think so too. but i don't know the solution. try identifying your particular problem (like which app is lagging) and google it?i think you have some old non-Apple files in your backup. cos I updated mine, and its smooth feels like a new phone again |
