Finally I successfully upgraded my Hubby's iPhone last night after 10 attemps! Somehow the iPhone got currupted.. or I dunno la.. At least its now alive and kicking woot woot..

Just a short question (I dont see any post about it here and sorry if I've missed it), my iPhone is 3Gs and I already back up my iPhone... So, how do I upgrade?

Some says I need to back up and restore and then only upgrade and everything will back to the previous except of coz with iOS4. But yesterday when I restore my Hubby's everything is back to factory setting... I want all my contacts, sms and all to be in tack... So, anyone? Please clarify it for me.. Of coz to those who sucessfully upgrade it.. smile.gif

if you choose setup a new phone after the upgrade...and using the same iPhone name....in my case....its overwrite my previous backup....

i just update my phone from 3.1.2fw straight to iOS4 without a hitch....

just click update... it'll automatically backs up my contents, apps, sms and mms, contacts etc....

then i just wait.... (2 hours++ to be exact...) and.... voila! new iOS4 and with all my apps content (well except for my JB apps)

When I tried to up my i3GS (non JB-ed) via itunes to iOS4, somehow I kept getting error-3253 message stating network connection was reset when I have almost finished (with few seconds left) downloading the update files. Anyone experienced this before? Thank you for your feedback in advance!!

By the way, I'm using itunes Windows version.

ebuddy messenger doesn't work well with Multitasking.

When i reopen the Ebuddy, it still needs to reconnect/loading.

In Standby mode, the batt with iOS 4.0 lasts much LONGER....!! That much I know with my 3GS...compared to OS 3.1.3. rclxms.gif

Other than that, it depends on what yu do with yr phone...cos no 2 persons use their phone in same way, correct?

you cant...just use and photo editing software resize a black colored photo to the size of Iphone's pixel 640x380 ( i might be wrong with the pixel size) and sync it back to the Iphone. then you'll have a black wall paper back

Yeap notice in iOS4 when in use the phone produce quite amount of heat and battery drain a little fast compared to 3.1.3 but the UI is much smoother and fast to my surprise...

More iOS4 compatible apps have launch today....

tap tap 3 now support multitask
Trapster support background location

iphone run hotter now after update

May be because of the multitasking running in background.
