Android 2.2 (Froyo) for Milestone is OUT-ish.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734802

Anyone dare to try?

Added on July 25, 2010, 3:29 pm Arrow  [ROM] MotoFrenzy (Froyo 2.2 for milestone)

I have made a quick adaption of the Froyo FRF91 for our milestone. and the results are quite good. Linpack scores are not much different, but Quadrant scores are almost triple normal scores.

Image is for OpenRecovery (ADBRecovery) and includes system, data, cache partitions only. (only tested on top of 2.36)

Download MotoFrenzy v0.1(Froyo FRF91)

V0.1 Note this is based on original Motorola kernel for AndroidOS 2.1,
so features required for OS 2.2 with new kernel is not available.

This is work in progress, so bugs might be there...

Froyo is a ENGLISH release only for now..

WORKING
- Bluetooth
- GPS
- Radio (GSM,GPRS,HSPA)
- Wifi
- SDCard detection
- USB / ABD (USB sdcard, Only if connected from power-on)
- AC Charging (milestone specific option)
- 3D games / full display support
- Video playback (Youtube etc..)
- Wipe
- G-sensor

STILL NOT WORKING
- Camera / Video Recorder
- USB mount of SDcard (if not connected at bootup)

Includes overclocking module, see readme in zip for more details.

Up till now, I am still unable to download any apps from the Market through wifi so I gave up and started paying for mobile internet.  sad.gif

Just wondering, how can I get GPS apps like Papago or something which can run without any data plan?
I searched for Papago but it didnt show the map for Malaysia.  icon_question.gif please!

Thank you!  notworthy.gif

MMS working on send out, not tested receiving. I think it is ok while SENT OUT works fine.

You need to restore the APN default settings sometimes, especially when you turn off APN by APNDroid with quite a long period and awaken back, it would idle and not responsing.

If Restore APN Settings won't work, you need to restart your phone to gain back the APN connection by refreshing the Telco Networks. No need to turn off APN before that.
Of course, your MMS that still in progress will send out soon, you can notice the EDGE/3G icon indicate data movement.

Do in mind, MMS is using Data connection, just different APN.
APNDroid can't recognise which APN is for Internet Connection and MMS Connection.
Data Calculation is based on which APN connected.
So it won't move to your Internet Connection rate if nothing Internet happened.
BTW, Turn off "BACKGROUND DATA" if you afraid of that before you awaken the APN.
Once MMS sent out, just turn off APN by using APNDroid again. It is safe.

What caused it? Although "gorilla glass," I worry a little about accidents. Mine usually in a sack in jeans pocket, never put keys or coins in that pocket.

Friend told me RM$5 removable protector does the job just fine.

last time on maxis also no issue to send MMS. i also go DiGi service to check out. seem all OK and the setting is right.
maybe try to restore the APN default settings and give a try. seem our phone is not 'famous' here.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

update : after restore the APN default, then set again the APN , mms can be send easily. no sweat sweat.gif

Good new!, Samsung road sms application had been ported out to all the other android phone.

roadsms apk
I think this link should be allowed right? coz it's from XDA forum.

I've tried it but this app does not work with our MS hardware keyboard. if can work with our hardware keyboard then surely i'll always use this!

I'm using matte protector as well, for the same finger print magnet issue. The only downside of using it is the screen will be a bit darker, so little bit harder to see the screen when outside in daylight.
