Hi M'stoners,
I just updated Gesture Search and it now FCs without stop. It used to be fine and I used it constantly for contact lookup.
Anybody have a solution?
QUOTE(llobak @ Jun 23 2010, 04:05 PM) you can go to market n download shapeWriter keyboard. i never use swype b4 la. but i think this shapewriter is something like swype...
Got Swype and I think it works more smoothly than Shapewriter. It is very good at guessing which word you want even if your thumb/finger is a bit off the mark. The pop ups take up too much screen space when I am in the middle of something. I am keeping HTC Touch on standby though. How long is the trial period? 111 This post has been edited by oneeleven: Jun 23 2010, 08:07 PM

RE: Gesture Search FCs QUOTE(scpt @ Jun 23 2010, 09:38 AM) Got update? I don't see one. Try reinstalling? When I looked at Market Apps it listed all my apps and installed all available updates. The others didn't give so many problems. Yesterday I did reinstall it and powered on/off to be sure, and it kept FCing again. Did another reinstall, TODAY OK (?!?!) TQ anyway. Now I've added GS Bar app to complement it, and am very happily using GS again. Now being WOWed by Brut 13 Maps 111

Original plastic sheet on new Milestone screen: QUOTE(V12Kompressor @ Jun 22 2010, 08:25 PM) Mine got peeled off after barely two hours I got my phone. Perhaps its caused by mt tight jeans. So, those who wear tight jeans/slim fit jeans beware. Mine just pulled off after 4 months I had only yanked the phone out of my jeans pocket when it was in a pouch, but the other day I carried it "naked" and the sheet rubbed off. I really miss it because it was pretty good at keeping the screen free of fingerprints. So now I need to ask you for recommendations for one that is transparent and does not slow down the touch function. Another reason the pouch is good is that the rubberized back can make the battery cover come off when coming out of tight jeans. I think the new slimmer model will be too fragile for me! 111

I see some people got 2.34 and I am confused. Mine 2.31 but is this just a country code? I have no upgrades available as far as I can see.

Afterwards, Swype stopped working, so far cannot reinstall even following directions for 2nd beta. Message is that my phone is NOT ANDROID !!! 111 This post has been edited by oneeleven: Jul 6 2010, 08:55 PM

QUOTE(sanosizo @ Jul 12 2010, 02:57 AM) Get a prepaid plan then, no monthly commitment If you want to keep it a while and want less hassle reloading etc, pay the RM$30(?) annual fee. It can be done from *100# if you have enough loaded in, maybe RM$30-40 You will probably get bonus points for free SMS too. 111

I put this in another thread and might be missed by somebody having the same problem with Swype Beta:
" I finally got around to emailing my IMEI to them. Today I as soon as I plugged in to PC a pop-up said update from Motorola. After going through whatever it was (Android remained 2.1 and MS 2.36, new MotoConn) I tried to reinstall from previous email message. IT WORKED ! So now Swype is up and running again. I don't know if it is another beta version - 1.56.30.7625.t100 "

QUOTE(RieZky @ Jul 16 2010, 08:06 PM) why its so hard to snap a photo of myself using MS..always my hand keep on touching the Search button when my finger try to snap the photo of myself..damn I'm thinking about removing the tiny add-on spherical mirror from an old phone and sticking it somewhere near the MS camera lens. Then can aim at self and friends better. Anyone tried this yet? An these be bought at shops? 111

QUOTE(Nagashiro @ Jul 26 2010, 10:05 PM) Me, I dint use one. I accidentally made a very small and lessly visible scratch on screen What caused it? Although "gorilla glass," I worry a little about accidents. Mine usually in a sack in jeans pocket, never put keys or coins in that pocket. Friend told me RM$5 removable protector does the job just fine. 111

QUOTE(llobak @ Aug 9 2010, 02:11 PM) speech to text can be used with MS. but, you have to speak with US slang. http://www.droidforums.net/forum/motorola-...-milestone.htmli've install it and it works with my MS. last time i also did post this link and another LYN member did try it and his also working fine. the problem is the program not suitable for malaysian who speak malaysia's english. you have to imitate those US ppl style of speaking only the phone can recognize.. hehe have fun! Mine working fine. Please give examples of what you said that came out wrong and maybe we can get around it. An excellent app that supports it is Speak2Send. Text created can be sent by email or to other SMS and note apps already installed on your phone. 111

QUOTE(lloyd1030 @ Aug 10 2010, 03:23 PM) not really, just speak proper English and the Google server will recognize what you have said and give you a very accurate result. I found speaking a natural moderate speed gave better results than attempting slow robotic clarity. Needs active internet connection to work though 111

QUOTE(sanosizo @ Sep 19 2010, 09:54 PM) I'm not sure whether moto engineers really tested how hot the phone could be when used on 3g/hsdpa network but to me it is too hot that i can't even put my fingers at the back part of the phone. It's damn hot that I thought it might actually blow up Does it heat up only when making voice calls? I make very few calls but 3G on all the time, never even gets warm. 111

QUOTE(alvin_yong_87 @ Sep 24 2010, 05:49 PM) didn't use qwerty keyboard on my milestone for a long time already since I had installed the swype.. Yes, me too, but KB convenient when browser in landscape view. Swype takes up too much space and distracting. 111 Added on September 24, 2010, 7:13 pmQUOTE(Motorola Rule @ Sep 23 2010, 08:14 AM) never beat good old american products. "american products" now mostly made in China. I'm pretty sure my MS too. All depends on Moto quality control in Chinese factory. So far, so good. 111 This post has been edited by oneeleven: Sep 24 2010, 07:13 PM
