cz the design la..=)
u c be4 the pic d rite?
its different from milestone=))
*
Looks solid to me tongue.gif But if give me a choice, I would go for the Droid X drool.gif Coz I don't need 2 phones with QWERTY keyboard.

QUOTE(sanosizo @ Jun 19 2010, 02:20 AM)
The only downside for milestone is its picture taking, if u have enough light then the pictures turn out fine. Under low light condition or indoor, the image looks abit hazy and the led flash doesn't help much. Any update on image quality in froyo?
*
Yea real crappy pics in low light. Froyo update will remake the camera UI, hopefully they can do something to the pic quality too.

Anyone here using the 2.34 build hk sbf? Can I flash my ms with hk sbf if I m using uk sbf?
*
Shouldn't be a problem since ur UK sbf is working in here. I'm using 2.34 on a HK set. And I can say that the alarm bugs are gone and my random restarts have also disappeared biggrin.gif

Hi guys,

I not sure whether u guys ad know bout this or not but i didnt see it in the topic so i think i would like to share.(sharing is wat ANDROID about)!

I've never used a HTC phone b4 but i think that the stock screen keyboard for MS just not so good. then i accidentally found the following website that enable MS user to use HTC keyboard.
I know with the physical keyboard of MS it's pointless to have on screen keyboard. but for lazy ppl like me who sometimes don like to flip out the keyboard, this HTC ported keyboard is excellent.
Well ever since i installed this, i seldom use the physical keyboard of MS even for long sms. ^^

http://www.droid-life.com/2010/03/29/downl...e-keyboard-v19/

if any of you know that there's ad a newer n better version, kindly let me know can? thanks.

ps: in my opinion, i can type faster using this HTC keyboard compare to swype.

There's a thread in XDA which has more custom skins, will look for it and update the 1st post later

The link by llobak was for an older version, here's the updated v24 custom skins (latest is v27)

I can't find the XDA thread with custom skins download anymore, not sure if they had taken it down or it's still hidden some where in there.

remove task manager and try auto memory manager for a few days. see if it makes any difference.

I think auto memory manager is essentially an auto task killer, since it has to auto kill apps to free memory. I get lousy battery performance when I use auto memory manager.

I've un-installed the stock keyboard and replaced it with this multi touch kb. It really works! U can now hold shift key & press another key at the same time biggrin.gif

Gonna try the boot animation later

installed the multi-touch keyboard. now i can type as fast as typing in iphone.

the multi-touch keyboard is a system app, i think it will be the stock keyboard in all future moto phones. not sure if it will install in non-rooted phones. in my case, i have the stock moto keyboard and the app wont install. after i removed the stock keyboard then only it can install.
*
Apparently there are some bugs in this port. My multitouch kb settings are reseting by itself at certain occasions. It's supposed to work for non-rooted Droids, maybe there's some problems in non-rooted Milestones

Does your "&" button look like mine?

The guys at XDA already ported the Droid X car dock albeit with some bugs too. Also, they are working on the Swype port which by have the voice input button!

Droid X boot animation confirmed working too!!! So awesome! rclxm9.gif
But I can't get the boot sound to work sad.gif

For those who wanna try the boot animation (both root & non root):

1) copy the bootanimation.zip & android_audio.mp3 into ur androidsdk/tools folder
2) then on Command Prompt cd to ur androidsdk/tools folder
3) and:
CODE

adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local
adb push android_audio.mp3
adb reboot

4) watch and be amazed! biggrin.gif

XDA

*NOTE:
1) Please do a backup first just incase. I'm not responsible if u get a black boot screen or if anything happens to ur phone tongue.gif
2) I do not have the backup for the original boot animation, if u want to revert probably have to google for it. Don't think I will revert anyway since this is so nice

Very cool looking boot animation. Now there is a reason to always reboot the phone tongue.gif

Yeah can show off phone even at startup laugh.gif Did u manage to get the boot sound to work?

QUOTE(kyleee @ Jun 26 2010, 03:11 AM)
how to remove original keyboard le@@?
*
There's a guide to remove stock apps, but make sure to backup ur system apps first:
QUOTE
1. from the command line (current path must be tools dir of SDK) run:
      adb remount
2. make an empty folder on your HDD (i'm going to call it android and put it in the C: drive so it's location is C:\android )
3. Then run:
      adb pull /system/app c:\android
4. All your applications are backed up for use later!

then:

The Droid will be getting Froyo at the end of July, hopefully we get ours by then too

Do you already have the alarm bug? I had not had the alarm bug hit me yet, and I had been using the MS for about 2 weeks now.... Touch wood I won't get the bug. But I was rather annoyed with the "unplug the earphone and music player autostarts" bug, which I read so far cannot be cured unless the phone had been rooted and the music player removed.
*
All above bugs can be fixed by flashing to the HK 2.34.3 sbf, no root required @ page 1

hi milestone owners ... i am one myself ( wonder why i am not in the list...LOL)

I just want to ask for some help/ advice .... for the past few days my phone touch screen started to go crazy moving left n right home panels, opening up my notification menu and closing it like crazy by itself, and the worse is button i press and selected is different like i select an option, the upper option got selected....

anyone experience this ? furthermore do someone know a solution to this matter ? does flashing to the hk sbf help or hardware issue ?

any help is greatly appreciated smile.gif
*
Will update the list later including new owners . The existing list is taken from V1 thread only tongue.gif

Maybe your touch screen sensor got problem d? It's normally caused by the screen grounding issue.
I normally experience touch screen problem when I charge through wall socket.

Manually flash using RSDlite...2.36 is actually the latest European release while 2.34.3 is the latest HK release. Both should work on our sets. Other sets like Canadian, Brazilian sets etc are still at 2.31, which means that their Motorola haven't issue updates for them yet.

Woohoo!!! Updated to 2.36!

And yes my MS is not so laggy anymore!
I dunno whether it's because all my apps have been wiped so I have more memory or it's cos of the update...

One thing I noticed besides the the HQ for youtube app is that the Water live wallpaper now ripples when u touch the screen!!!
*
If all apps have been wiped sure la faster laugh.gif All South East Asian sets should have the 2.36 update already. Yep, since build 2.34 they fixed all the bugs, including the water ripples effect in the LWP.

Just updated mine to GOT starhub 2.36, with black theme and overclock to 720 (with voltage locked to 56v) during boot. So far so good, the muffled sound during voice calls now solved, hopefully other bugs are gone as well.

Flash your phone with the service version so that all your apps n data are intact. Hopefully froyo is just around the corner smile.gif
*
GOT's black theme looks nice drool.gif Overclockable up to 1GHz at stock voltage? Sounds awesome! Did u try 1GHz?
Moves dalvik-cache to /cache too. Been trying to do that lately without success, hopefully this will work, gonna give it a try later

haih....my set kept saying its system is already up to date despite its still on 2.31. Anyway if thru manual update on the http://and-developers.com/motorola_milestone:sbf ....which country shld i select from? any guidance??
*
Same thing happen to my HK set when I was at 2.31. I only managed to update by manually flashing the sbf. U can use the South East Asia 2.36 or HK 2.34.3. I'm not sure wat are the differences between the two, but both versions definitely fix most of the MS bugs like alarm, random reboots etc.

Factory reset? Do I need to backup anything before doing so?

Can't dl thru wifi but can surf net or not? MS has a bug in version 2.31 that can't surf net on certain routers although it show connected
