My original battery is really messed up. Today it dropped suddenly from 90% to 50%. I tried all sorts of methods to fix my battery reading problems, batt calibration, etc.

I have a spare 3rd-party battery too but due to the different capacity the reading sometimes doesn't even appear. When it does, the readings are quite messed up as well. Sudden drops and all.

Anyone had trouble with their battery? Maybe it's because my unit is about 1 1/2 years old?

Using CM7 mod for Milestone.
*

mine is 1 year. i also on CM7 and i notice sometime when using the phone the battery can drops 20 - 30 % after few minutes, normally happen when using 3G or wifi. but full charge on medium usage can last 1 day plus.

Hi Bro,

Maybe you should do trial & error with the wifi issue, maybe your router problem & try on off it? can you use wifi in other area like coffeebean etc? can you try with other phone or laptop to connect to your wifi & see whether it works on other gadgets? maybe is your wifi router settings problem?

I don't use voice search but if you search something which need to go internet like google search, of course it needs to online, if search sms or contact, dun need la.

If problem still persist, maybe need to send back for warranty?

Hi Milestone users, juz bought a milestone for myself and this is my first android. Bought it 2nd hand from one of LYN forumer. The phone is great but at some points it really stressing me up. Browsers are slow, Opera mini cant install(stuck at installing), freeze sometimes, Dolphin HD super slow, its like I cant do anything in here. My Milestone is preinstalled with MIUI 1.8 if I'm not mistaken. But on all of this negative things that happens in this milestone it still do his job. Calling, etc also super fast GPS lock. Does the ram is the cause of all this drama or MIUI ROM? sad.gif

Added on October 12, 2011, 3:01 pmActually, what is the best rom for milestone? I mean stable and fast. Gud looking is a bonus... There's still MS user in here rite?

How to reinstall Gmail, Youtube, Google Maps and Voice Search if you keep getting forced closed on them after flashing a new custom ROM

1) Revert to old market app http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10439360/Market_2.3.6.apk
2) Install MarketEnabler http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10439360/marketenabler-v3.1.1.2.apk
3) Launch MarketEnabler and select one of the USA telco in the list and long press on it and select it to spoof your phone
4) Then Launch the old Android Market App and do a search for "Google Inc"
5) You should then see apps like Gmail, Youtube, Voice Search and Google Maps. These apps are hidden from Android phones outside of USA.

As for Google Maps. I use a hacked version called OnWhere Google Maps where it has the Voice Turn by Turn Navigation.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007132

I am currently using an older version of OnWhere because the newer version drains battery for some unknown reason.

New Razr priced about what I paid for Milestone :-(

However, I am quite attached to mine, used to its quirks and limitations, can live without the fastest and latest. I don't see enough pizzazz in the new models and I'm too cheapskate to to rush and dump out two grand. I'd pay even more if they built in a few more features: image projection, dual SIM, wimax or similar, 3D, flip option, xenon flash, after-shot refocusing, NFC, etc. so many technologies already available. I can wait a while longer.

What do you think, what's on your wish list?

cool2.gif yea, i paid almost 2k to have my milestone one & half year back, now with this money can get much more higher spec/bigger screen smart phone.

Feel like wanna get a latest phone but maybe wait a bit longer, now the smart phone really depreciates very very fast.
Just root my phone & overclock it, hihihihi, it is not dual core but run at 1200 MHz, boleh tahan i guess icon_rolleyes.gif

My wish list now is Samsung Galaxy 2, but by another few more months down the road, I guess we will have other better spec phone out in the market .... whistling.gif
