What finally happened to your screen? Any solutions? Mine is starting to act funny. Recovers slightly if I turn off and on again. 111 |

QUOTE(haroldz123 @ Jan 14 2012, 04:16 PM) my MS is dead, touch screen is dead in right side n keypad not so rresponsive even if it's RM300, i think it's not worth it to revive the phone. take this as an opportunity to change phone, preferably with atleast 1GHz CPU and 512MB RAM with 4" screen. Gingerbread keypad is much easier to type than previous version, so not really need the real keyboard.if the repair cost me less than rm300, i might revive it i use cm7 ROM, far better than stock |

It usually improves a bit after I lock-unlock the screen. If the kb is weird, I just use the slide out.
Someone on web suggests reformatting SD. Maybe I'll try a master reset too. The current state of technology is not enough of a leap for me to dump another two grand yet. I can wait for something irrresistable. 111 Added on January 17, 2012, 9:21 pmGood day today -- reinstalled TouchPal keyboard and no screen blind spots so far. I cannot find a keyboard calibration app; can anyone direct me? This post has been edited by oneeleven: Jan 17 2012, 09:21 PM |

Added on January 27, 2012, 9:53 amUpdated to 7.1.4 CM7. Seems to perform slightly better. OCed to 1ghz, min is 250mhz scaling. Battery life is decent. This post has been edited by MYstombox: Jan 27 2012, 09:53 AM |

QUOTE(MYstombox @ Jan 27 2012, 09:32 AM) Hi, thanks. Can't find it. BTW I'm using original Moto 2.2.1Manage to live with the problem, using workarounds like voice dictation, slide out KB, spell check-predictor, etc. but still a butt-hurt. Sometimes must use all three methods to get out one message 111 |

Touchscreen test is an app on the market.
Why don't you try running CM7 on it? |

QUOTE(MYstombox @ Feb 4 2012, 10:23 AM) Touchscreen Test just confirms that something is wrong. If there is a hardware problem, would CM7 be able to remedy it? I love my MS but is more than two years perfect performance too much to expect from phones nowadays? The average dump and buy new model rate is 18 months, according to surveys. 111 |

QUOTE(MYstombox @ Feb 5 2012, 11:21 AM) I am on CM7, there is a touchscreen problem when I am charging. Hmmm... I wonder if there is something related. My screen problem seemed to coincide with the original charge cable having connection problems. Maybe something loose in the USB jack or near there on the motherboard. When charging the screen goes haywire. Just speculations, since I am experienced in neither hardware nor rooting. :-( 111 |

Well, based on my experience with the MS. It is one of the trickier devices to hack.
Especially since the bootloader is locked down like a nutjob in an asylum. But if you follow the instructions properly over at XDA devs to have the BL exploit load open recovery, then you're good to flash CM7. Even better, you can use your external SD card; make sure it's at least class 8, and partition some of it to be ext3 to be used as an extension of your phone's internal storage for apps. So there's no need for apps2SD and all that nonsense. To be honest, the MS isn't my main phone, it's pretty much just my tinkering device. Although I carry it around with me for GPS, gtalk, etc. |

been quite some time since I last posted here
time has come, sadly for the demise of my milestone and also my departure from the Android world. I'm settling down for a berry. Its been a great phone, until the touchscreen decided to go wonky and we all know without the touch screen working perfectly, the phone can only be a good paperweight. P/S: I would appreciate it if anyone has any clue about where to service the phone by a proper technician who knows the existence of the brand "Motorola". |
