i am concerned that edifier will become 'fashion' PC speakers manufacturer instead of the 'quality sound at affordable price', seeing their latest products mainly focus on design. laugh.gif just hope it's not. we need newer 2.1 / 5.1 M and R series products!  tongue.gif

According to Mr.Edifier,S750 might replace the 180W sub with 300W one@@
I am not so sure about that..
Hmm,perhaps they fuse in 'fashion' and 'quality' into the same thing.
Just dun discontinue S series product then ok..
R series products are good too..
Like Edifier R1900T3...
eh,nismo91,where's ur location?
saw ur logitech z cinema..suddenly felt like visiting.lol.

\haha currently at singapore... if im at msia probably welcome for audition., anyway the z cinema i gave it to my bro, now left with the ADA885 and Edifier R501... ADA885 is built from 1999. yet after a decade altec doesn't really create a true successor to it. gotta love the 27hz (only in very proper location), SPDIF input and 'smart' rear speakers. though must admit when it comes to music it's abit dull to me.

ok, got myself the DA 5000 Pro. sound quite good for my kind of usage. currently using the cables provided by Edifier for the output line to the speakers. will changing them to the thicker fluorescent cables that large speaker system use like in the disco change the sound quality?

well perhaps one of the legend... tongue.gif i got it from my classmate not long ago. it's one of those speakers which sounded better when listened afar instead of in front of the speakers itself... wide soundstage too. the special part is the flexible rear speakers, can be attached to the front, or attached to the rear base. i do not see another altec products being this flexible. laugh.gif

if you change cables it will bring better performance. but is it worth it or is the speakers really benefit from the cables is the question.

I don't think you need to change the speaker cable... it's good already

the only thing you need to change is the cable that connects your speakers to the computer... cuz that's not really convincing

Thanks nismo91 for the sharing.
Hmm,perhaps you can post a few photos to let us open our eyestage..

Perhaps changing them to some kinda Canare cables would be enough.
It will enhance the audio signal, lessen the signal lost.
I have personally tested a pair of those Edfier ori speaker cables with my Canare cable.
Well, that's just if you wanted to do it.
If only cables alone, won't cost you too much.
And IINM,edifier stock speaker cables are longer, which has pros and cons.
pros is u have longer cables, cons is u have lost some of the signals.
and perhaps nid to switch it louder to get the effect or a shorter cable..
from my exp..

ok, ive tested/experimented changing one of the cables with a better but older home theater cable i found lying around. theres some difference felt, the satellite speaker sounds crisper and clearer and my concern are the surround ones, not the front left+right. went to a nearbuy electronic store and a good piece of cable (judging from the salesman recommendation, the cable is damn thick) would cost rm3 to rm3.50 a metre so, still in my budget and next monday i would go buy them.

also, thanks power911 for pointing out that matter about the cables from the sub to the pc. will go check it out too this coming monday. whether the difference is big or small, im sure there IS difference and to my personal judgement, its worth it.

Speaking of cables, you should really change the interconnect..
That matters even more IMO.
Yea,speaker cables are cheaper.
But interconnect might not be.
Perhaps you could ask some of the forumer to diy some interconnect for you.
that would have a high c/p value.

Does S330D support DTS. The manual from Canada says that it does not support Dolby Digital (AC-3). I tried to search for more info on this but could not find any.

I plan to use it with my WDTV to play Bluray movies with DTS sound. WDTV requires optical input to an AV Receiver to decode the sound. Just wondering whether S330D will do the job. Thanks.

this... I cannot confirm because I have not try them on DTS
as far as I can remember Mr. Edifier had said once that it cannot support DTS
ask Mr. Edifier because I'm not sure

if you're testing it with your ears... you'll only notice there's more treble... the bass will be the same

can you guys please help me point out anyone selling the said cables in the garage sales thread? im really like a fish out of water here regarding audio, cables, etc. biggrin.gif my speaker set is just a normal one so i dont feel like spending a lot of money on cables. hope to find mid-range cables that match them with value for performance.

Depending on what cables you want.
Mini-RCA interconnects or speaker cables only?
Maybe you can try ask Wotiyo or PcWork.
Or else you can go to garage sales and see things that look like my siggy one.
Canare cables for speaker cables are not bad.
Just ask them to help you.
Of course, the change varies depending on personal experience.
The loss would be reduced though and you can get more finer details.
