on-board is good... it's just that if you upgrade soundcard you'll get more than just good

Edifier S550 don't have a digital function
everybody is waiting for the mighty S750 which has a D in it but it is nowhere to be seen
it says it supports HD audio,Dolby Digital HT,Optical,Coaxial,and many-many more modern functions


The S550 can support 5.1 only,no 7.1

seems that i cant find the edifier s750 anywhere. it is not available anymore? if the s550 doesnt support digital/THX, i feel like the DA 5000 Pro would be sufficient eh?

well depending on your expectations, but from the way i see it, DA5000P should be worth it, since it's almost half the price of S550. yes the S550 does not take digital input (coaxial and optical) so analog only...

right now, im matching a pair of Punch 100W rms each surround speakers with a very old model of altec lansing subwoofer, max output of only 40W max. the subwoofer is almost the same size of the speaker set. since i watch movies, wanna feel the surround sound so either the s550 or da5000 pro, the front left and right speakers will be swapped with these current Punch ones. hope it will sound better.

Hmmmm, I've tried Digital input frm my ASUS HDAV 1.3 card to My S730, as I can say I prefer the analog output, i think because the built in DAC and OpAmps in the S730 built-in encoder not good enough. Hmmm, have anyone here tried that yet?

I saw & tested a 300w sub in Edifier lab on my last visit, don't know when it will complete

The 180 W one also still not yet be seen anywhere in Malaysia,how to get 300W one?

May be they change their mind, make 1 300w sub instead of 180w

But how come I saw some official brochures of Edifier already publish S750?
So it means a product just died like this?

May be the later S750 will come with the 300w woofer
