That was random..
But thanks for visiting lol.

I've been thinking, will 85L do much good on a APS-H?
Or actually I should just save up more for a FF and fully utilize 2470 before buying a prime..Meh.

Hi All

Is the below cheap?

All 58MM
1) Marumi MC-UV - 1470 Yen (RM54)
2) MarumiCPL - 3040 Yen (RM 112)
3) Hakuba CPL - 3040 Yen
4) Hakuba MC-UV - 1470 Yen
5) Kenko - CPL - 3650 Yen (RM134)

Also which brand is better? I want to use this with my 550D kit lens

Any acccessories for my canon worth getting from Tokyo? This is my first SLR biggrin.gif

Cheers

Big difference. Worthiness depends whether you would use it or not. Improvement are even more noticeable on Sigma 50mm f/1.4 but have to pay more lah biggrin.gif

go for the cheapest for protectionm, general usage & CPL, if want flawless image, just take off the filter b4 taking the shot. Wait till later you upgraded to more satisfying higher end glasses then only go for expensive filters.

IQ wise i can't tell the difference. very subtle, the bokeh is noticecably better when it comes to lights, the 1.4 more rounded.

that aside, build quality wise improve A LOT.

i find the 1.4 to handle better and does focus faster, less hunting.

worth the upgrade? no straight answer. i think for most people, it's not.

Walaoweh, only use 16-35L soooo temberang already...
And his theory is applicable for people with Parkinson's only (no pun intended)...
All these while I shoot with my 14L II and 15 Fisheye at f/8 to f/16 also never had any problem leh, just need to have firm Wing Chun stand...  laugh.gif
*

Ya la. The way he talk is like the 16-35 f2.8 is so damn expensive n only he can afford it. Keep challenging ppl to buy n use it before talking. He's like saying every1 needs to shaddap n listen to him just coz he got uber 16-35 f2.8. laugh.gif The 16-35 f2.8 lens is just a cheap lens, yet he wanna act like big shot. laugh.gif But then I looked at his jpeg file name n they all start with DSC which kinda explains the mentality a bit. tongue.gif

My observations between my 5D n 1D-

When I 1st plugged in the 17-40 f4 to the 1D, I was like "where the heck did the bokeh disappear to?". It really is that much less creamy. Had to get a 16-35 f2.8 to gain back the bokeh. The FF rendition is just so much creamier n smoother it's kinda unexplainable in words. So if u were to plug in ur current lenses to an FF, ur reaction is gonna be the opposite which will go like "phwoarrrrrrrr where the heck did all this bokeh come from?" laugh.gif

I dont understand what Canon puts in the 1D(mebe it's got some fairy dust inside laugh.gif) though coz it's so damn sharp n the level of details in a puny 10mp is just mind blowing. It looks the same as my 5D at 21mp actually. BUT what u will see is the dreamy, creamy, smooth rendition when u go back to the FF. Ur love affair with the 70-200 f2.8L IS may just be reignited by putting it on a FF body. wub.gif

So I reckon u shud get an FF instead of an 85L. Coz f4 on the FF is already damn nice, f2.8 is almost too much and f1.4 is already over the nose bleed limit on a FF. laugh.gif

U need to zoom in 10x la if u wanna check ur pic sharpness. That's what the hi res LCD is for. If not, blur shot oso looks sharp on the small screen.

U will only see smoother bokeh with the 50mm f1.4. Both lenses r just as soft so I wouldnt bother going from the f1.8 to f1.4 if I were u.
