i think fruitie should just drop RM 1k to get Tamron 17-50 non-VC since.....
1. she lack funds 2. she doesn't have 18-55 range 3. she's aware of the Tammy and already is under the buying list. |

UWA = ultra wide angle.
i also like to call it UWA is cos when people who haven't used it before will say "uuuuuwwwaaaaaaa!!!" such lenses usually go from 10 to 24 range for APS-C body. eg Canon EF-S 10-22 for Full Frame body, their UWA are like EF 17-40L / EF 16-35L. the EF 17-40L / EF 16-35L on APS-C body works like short zoom range. The EF-S 10-22 cannot be used on Full Frame bodies since they only accept EF lenses, not EF-S lenses. the APS-C body on the other hand accepts both EF and EF-S lenses. *sure got more questions to come. LOL. i let others answer, now i go play game! Added on June 7, 2010, 1:32 amtook this in AFC Studio, Singapore using my Sigma 10-20 UWA....... i think the fella dying liao, or maybe the HSM dying. ![]() |

QUOTE(vikingw2k @ Jun 7 2010, 01:30 PM) I'll suggest 10-22 over 11-16 too for it's versatile range. i would go 10-22 also. QUOTE(vikingw2k @ Jun 7 2010, 01:30 PM) Alternative for 24L2 is the Nonac 28mm f2.8. But the IQ is ahem. yeah but what to do, that one below RM 1k can get mah. got another, 28mm f1.8. that one RM 1k+ |

QUOTE(jobneed @ Jun 7 2010, 03:28 PM) the Raynox DCR 250 works fine with 18-55 and 50mm lens, and any other lenses that are less than 67mm in diameter on the front element.BUT due to the nature of the product, some zoom range may render it unusable. others may end up including the parts of the filter to enter the frame, making 4 black corners (no, it's not vignetting). i end up using Raynox DCR 250 to troubleshoot motherboard, eg the LGA pins bent or whatever. helps magnify the view. |

got 1 time the motherboard really refuse to work, so end up the DCR 250 magnifying glass used to view the pins to check for damage.
also useful when i want to video small small things. |

QUOTE(Grajindo @ Jun 7 2010, 03:50 PM) Then I would persuade my mum to buy one to replace her magnifying glass at RM 250, she could buy probably 20 - 40 magnifying glasses and place it every where in the house, in every bag, in every car ...... and still can populate the other relatives' house wor. |

i don't think so. Raynox DCR 250 is RM 250 only - don't expect it to be so power.
he probably just got himself a 100L + extension tubes or something. MP-E5 or whatever possible. donno him....... certainly not DCR 250. |

QUOTE(nicotine @ Jun 7 2010, 05:06 PM) ^ nope, not raynox, but i would love to stack it on my tamron 90 for higher magnification oh, i didn't know SP 90 can fit on FF body.equipment used- tamron 90 F2.8, 5dMkII, 430ExII, hoya +4 filter, OC-E3 cord. cheh you show off i tot you buy something new liao. Added on June 7, 2010, 5:24 pm QUOTE(mauinsons @ Jun 7 2010, 05:16 PM) for higher magnification?? yeah but hor, Raynox severely reduces MFD and DOF. IQ leaves much to be desired lor, usable la in some cases. for me i have +4 close up and Raynox - i use +4 close up more than Raynox. |

QUOTE(nicotine @ Jun 7 2010, 05:30 PM) @goldfries, serious? this means SP AF17-50mm/2.8 XR VC / non VC Di II LD Aspherical (IF) also can?according to tammy site, all lens with the "SP" label were compatible with FF aiii me bankrapppp ler no new toy to show off ... me not fisherman ler hehhee no la, cannot be. from what I gathered, it depends on Di or Di II. Di II = APS-C Di = APS-C + FF. notice your SP 90 is Di, not Di II btw you can scroll to the bottom of their product page, it will state. SP doesn't indicate anything about mounting. |

the lens does not work as it is once you place something to modify the absorption of light.

QUOTE(DecaPix @ Jun 7 2010, 07:17 PM) coz Canon spec says the AF sensor will only work with aperture 5.6 and above ma That's what i asked goldie last time. He said still can AF but slow and hunts Only 1D series can work with aperture 8.0 and above but can try any other lenses, you can go f/8 or higher still can AF what. so donno what that one mean about the AF sensor thing. i not technical but if got document / link, can study study. Added on June 7, 2010, 7:23 pm QUOTE(pengster @ Jun 7 2010, 07:19 PM) Yeah, International Camera Service is a nice place to shop. They let you try everything and are very friendly. Plus, can try all those Think Tank bags too. Went to look at the Streetwalker Harddrive and didn't realize it was so big awesome bag! and yes, it's huge. |
