Precisely. Cant expect much due to the big ass glass. 1D series will help to boost the focusing a little.
85L and 70-200 price gap is kinda far away smile.gif
Where did you bought yours from? Shashinki? if yes, send back to them to claim. I bought 4 sets of 4x Powerex 2700 from Shashinki and face the same problem. A year later they told me there's
one batch facing manufacture defect. I sent back and they replaced  4 brand new sets of Imedion for me. thumbup.gif up for Shashinki's service!
*
Well, last time i bought, it was RM7.3k, 85L was 8.5k something? That's not really a big gap Imo..

I find it hard to believe tho LOL
Pretty sure a lot of detail is loss, no matter how good a noise reduction program is, how it works shouldn't be have too much diff..

So its true that 5D2 has a price cut of 500USD dollar globally? o.O
Shashinki selling 5D2 body only for 7.2k now, from 9k. 5d2 kit as well, going for 10k from 12k.

What could this mean? lol

5D3 would sound good, I can't imagine how the 3D would be like when it comes out.

It'd be revolutionary.

Noob question here----> DSLRs can shoot still images in 16:9 and 3:2 as well?
*
Sony's alpha could I think, but it's just cropped so it looks like 16:9, you can do it on any 3:2 with a photo editing software I suppose.

50D will be even more Ergonomic, solid and nice to hold. It will makes you think the otherwise of what you are thinking of 550D now.

Unless weight and size is a factor of your choice, 50D will be a better one.

I just went to YL last weekend, and saw a few copies of the 85L for sale second hand. But I think those are the Mark I, not the newer Mark II version. List price is about RM5k according to the sticker YL put on those 85L's  smile.gif
*
I see >.>
I doubt a Mk II will cost less than 7k lol

Sigh my 70200 no ppl want =(

That was random..
But thanks for visiting lol.

I've been thinking, will 85L do much good on a APS-H?
Or actually I should just save up more for a FF and fully utilize 2470 before buying a prime..Meh.

QUOTE(ianho @ Jun 15 2010, 10:50 AM)

My observations between my 5D n 1D-

When I 1st plugged in the 17-40 f4 to the 1D, I was like "where the heck did the bokeh disappear to?".  It really is that much less creamy. Had to get a 16-35 f2.8 to gain back the bokeh. The FF rendition is just so much creamier n smoother it's kinda unexplainable in words. So if u were to plug in ur current lenses to an FF, ur reaction is gonna be the opposite which will go like "phwoarrrrrrrr where the heck did all this bokeh come from?" laugh.gif

I dont understand what Canon puts in the 1D(mebe it's got some fairy dust inside laugh.gif) though coz it's so damn sharp n the level of details in a puny 10mp is just mind blowing. It looks the same as my 5D at 21mp actually. BUT what u will see is the dreamy, creamy, smooth rendition when u go back to the FF. Ur love affair with the 70-200 f2.8L IS may just be reignited by putting it on a FF body.  wub.gif

So I reckon u shud get an FF instead of an 85L. Coz f4 on the FF is already damn nice, f2.8 is almost too much and f1.4 is already over the nose bleed limit on a FF.  laugh.gif

I reckon that I should follow your advise! biggrin.gif

Found a Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 non-VC with 1 year warranty for RM 1350. rolleyes.gif VC version will be RM 1750. rclxms.gif

If only I had sufficient extra money for a new unit.

If not in a hurry or urgent, save more only buy lor laugh.gif
It's always advisable to do that unless you never mind a used unit or in an urgent smile.gif

Awesomeness and convenient of zoom lens are undeniable.
In fact it's the reason that keeps me away from trying Prime lenses.

Ohh man 2470. Till I find a good reason to move to prime (aperture and sharpness actually), this lens will be sticking on my camera all the time lol
