Hi guys, is it possible to open standard chartered account for singapore without working in singapore? Im working in brunei, and here nearest foreign bank is standard chartered, and seems like if bnd to sgd transfer no need any exchange and charges for within SCB.

For SCB transfer from BND to SGD for free, you need to be member for Priority Banking. How to be eligible?

ah i see, only for priority banking lol. Thanks for the info, kulikang like me maybe need work here 20 years only got BND100k to deposit lol.

just wanted to confirm, if SGD from cimb sg fastsaver change back to cimb my account via cimb clicks SG, no extra charges right?

You got to send email to them and ask for status update. Cimb Sg will send the mail that you didn't complete the 2 required steps even if you did. Just reply to that email.

I'm not one to get angry easily but CIMB SG has done it.

I had an issue earlier this year with the SMS OTP never arriving. After I called twice, it took them a few weeks to resolve it and I made sure to set up Digital Token thereafter. But then the new Clicks app update reset the Digital Token and SMS OTP stopped working again. I'm effectively locked out of the account as neither 2FA method works now.

Call centre always too busy and my morale is quite low. I wanna take my money out, any suggestions for how to force or expedite a full withdrawal?

since u r locked out, the only way is to contact cimb sg whether by email, call or physical. once unlock then withdraw everything and dun use anymore.

ahh, i was afraid of that. It's what i'm trying now but really no other course of action, eh. Feels like i'm held hostage by their call centre and IT system. Still, thanks for the reply.

it's the same here. took me almost 2 weeks including complaint to bnm to report fraud on my hsbc card. never able to get to their live chat or call centre.

And also take note that you need to call or go to branch for withdrawal, can't do it online. AFAIK.

any issue or things to be aware of when remitting money back to Malaysia ?

thinking of making the most of the exchange rate to transfer some $$ back to Malaysia account to complete some house reno work.
