Bought mine on Saturday in Malacca from Maxis Centre in MP. Sales guy didn't even know what is the HTC Desire.

Anyway, bought it for RM1,499 and pay additional RM50 cos new line. Only got a Maxis phone pouch as free gift, no screen protector or case available yet ...even from HTC shop next door.

Newbie to Android (quite seasoned with Windows - bought my first Windows PDA 11 years ago) but found that it's very powerful. Synched old Contacts from my old Nokia E71 to Gmail and back to the HTC Desire - pretty cool!

Now looking high and low for an offline GPS software to use on it - understand Papago X5 is still not supported. Any alternative that can use Malsing/Malfree maps?

Found my problems with the battery drainage.

All Programs > Settings > Accounts & sync >, disable "Background data" and it will helped with the battery improvements.

I have Facebook, Gmail, Stocks and Weather set up.

Facebook interval: 2 hours
Stock interval: every hour
Weather: every 3 hours
Gmail: cannot set interval. Does anybody know how? I dont need to sync contacts and calendar from Gmail!

Does anyone know how to set the wifi settings and save it for each connection?

Cause I have to change the settings manually everytime I connect to different connections, like home, office and free wifi.

As I remember my Symbian phone, I can set the wifi settings for each connection.

Cheers!

rm2199 is already the SRP
so i think u can expect dealer price to be lower than that

The USB to Micro USB cable for charging our phone via PC / laptop has no voltage and etc, so any cable (even Nokia's or Blackberry's) will work just fine with our Desire, yes?
