I think mine is Matte. It's quite good and I am happy with it. It does not glare under the sun and there are no effects on the phone, does not lose sensitivity. The brand I bought is CAPDASE for RM30 in a HTC stall (in front of Samsung shop) on G floor in Digital Mall, PJ.

The actual amount avaible for you to install apps on the I9000 Galaxy S is just 1.8GB, another 200MB seems to be used by the OS. And the other 6GB will be free for you to store music, video and other stuff. From the review I read, Desire only have 100+ MB for apps installation. If you can wait for Froyo, then should be OK since it allows apps to be install on the memory card, but still need to wait for long time.

The Desire initial promise 720p video recording and Divx support also not yet been realised. And all this features, is already available for Galaxy S, but the price will be higher, and not sure will local telcos will carry them or not.

1.8gb is still way more than 100mb.. yea.. froyo has apps to sd.. but this option is more as a choice for the developer rather than user
i am afraid some developers might not be so willing to move their files to the SD card.. for fear of piracy maybe? just a thought

The sizes of an Android app / game is as small as KB and barely any that exceeds 4MB. With 100MB, you have a lot to install and you can even install games like checkers, chess, and etc that you probably wouldnt even play.

Despite the complaint of having insufficient memory to support the app, there are plenty that we can forego - down with the silly games and try out more apps! Yay!

If you are afraid and has all these concerns, you should wait out for Froyo to be released to Desire before buying. Maybe by then, there'd be a even better model!

Galaxy S has great specs, thats true. But I won't buy the Galaxy S in favour of the Desire. Why? It's too like an Iphone. UI looks like iPhone's,even the design looks like iPhone's. Come on Samsung,be more creative doh.gif

Oh and if you guys think HTC software support is bad,Samsung's is even worse sweat.gif

Got like iPhone meh? Some users care more about the 'engine' ma, more power can vroom vroom!

Somehow I can never bring myself to buy Samsung products. Even for CRT, I'd rather go with Viewsonic than Samsung. I see Samsung 17" CRT for a few hours, I will get headache.

The battery drain quite fast even though I dont use it. I just picked up one call this morning and that's it. From 8am to 10:40am, my batt has loss 5 bars!!

3h 2m 36s since unplugged
Here is the breakdown:
Cell standby 46%
Phone idle 47%
Android System 5%
Display 2%

What is Cell standby? How to improve batt performance?

I am considering task killer to kill task that is taking up the batt, not the memory.

I know. But for me, I dont need it & I have to remove it. Kinda annoying.
Thanks for the help bro! If can remove the CN Thai keyboard & Chinese input would be better  icon_rolleyes.gif  Thanks again.
*
Sorry you can't remove it as this is build into the rom. Unless you change rom (subject to voiding your warranty) you are able to get rid of it, but the HTC_IME mod should work well for you as you will not see the CN Thai Kb anymore unless you activate it (long tap on input field - Input Method)

5 bars? roughly how many percent? Cause i cant see any bar, haha!!
I think that one is you battery usage for your phone to standby~~
May cause by the screen brightness, live wall paper and usage to maintain the phone signal, i think~~
