Yeah, this shows that Maxis plan are expensive.
am waiting Digi now. Even I m on Maxis line (Value 30 plan) now, am plan for Digi to launch (if they plan to), and sign up a new line in Digi (if Desire plan similar to others like Legend plan now).

At that time I will hold 2 phones, one Maxia for calls and SMS, and another Desire for online.

So my monthly charge will be around 30(maxis) + 68(digi) = 98 (unlimited data), rather than 50(Maxis) + 48 (data, 500mb) = 98

i can send and receive. if you want the parameters to setup maxis' apn, refer to nexus one thread here http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1393679. it's on the first post.

I have already reconfigured the setting according to the thread. But I am still able to send and not able to receive. I tried to send from my Desire to myself and send from another phone to me. Both MMS cannot be received.

anyone can share me the APN backup from Maxis unit?

I know. But for me, I dont need it & I have to remove it. Kinda annoying.

QUOTE(r47z @ May 30 2010, 10:11 AM)
you can try to install an additional keyboard over the existing ones, this is a keyboard mod my jonasl @ xda forum. I've been using this since I got my Desire. Works very well.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=624416

goes out to all new Desire owners as well.

Thanks for the help bro! If can remove the CN Thai keyboard & Chinese input would be better icon_rolleyes.gif Thanks again.

Hmm, Alex, you can try but you need to talk to the manager instead of the staff outside because your case and mine are special cases where we do not want to "downgrade" our data plan. Good luck to you. But in anycase, you'll have to sign for 12 months on the data contract (maintaining the existing unlimited package)
*
Thanks for the suggestion. I don't mind signing the contract as I intend to keep it anyway. I'll try and go to KLCC next week when I'm free. By the way any chance of you "recommending" me the manager you spoke to?

2 options

1. root & install A2SD
or
2. wait for Froyo (end of June)

Well the suggestion is to charge it for 8 hours, which I did.

Btw, have been playing around with my Desire since the launch, it's really a great phone! Feels like a smaller pc (but of course it won't replace my pc tongue.gif ).

Been downloading off the market and is left with about 70mb phone memory. Now if only we had FroYo, then it'll be perfect~!

thx there... but how do u clear the cache? is it from the sd card & phone storage menu? coz i cant seem to find anything there..
*
Go to Settings/Application/Manage Application and go into every application that you need to clear the cache. Can sort it according to size to identify which one is using a lot of memory. Normally internet browser has a lot of cache.

Going through the manual will answer a lot of your question.

To those of you who are suggesting to wait for Froyo to install apps to microSD card, think again. Most of the apps at the moment are only programmed to be saved to ur phone memory since we're all using 2.1 at the moment. So when Froyo comes to our phone, there's no guarantee that all the apps will have the option to be installed on the microSD card because the devs will have to update their apps to do so. So I'm just saying its not as simple as waiting for Froyo to install apps to ur microSD card, you'll need apps which allow u to do so. But hopefully by the time Froyo comes to the Desire, most,if not all the apps would have been updated to have the option to allow installation on the microSD card smile.gif

Looking at the changelog on some of the apps, I say think positive; The devs are working hard to make sure their apps are up to date. Hopefully my favorite apps will be app2sd ready flex.gif

Yes I'm sure by the time Froyo is officially released on our phone, most,if not all apps would have that option ready. I guess my point is there might be a possibility that some apps won't get updated to include that option, but that'd be stupid on the developers' part.

Froyo pls come soon! Can't wait for Flash! In your face,Apple flex.gif
