Hi, what is the A42JV battery life? What is capacity of HDD in Malaysian version 500 or 320 Gb? Is the free dos version available?
I'm considering to sell my almost new Acer 4745G (think I can do it with minimal lost of money in my country) and buy Asus (mainly because better video card and int warranty). But I worry about this glossy finish and battery life (with Acer I get around 4 hr and want at least the same). And more powerful GPU means more heat, right?
Thank you!

500GB hdd, no FreeDOS...
Technically more heat, but can feel it or not, depends the notebook cooling system....

Hi everyone ,
Thinking of getting either one of 2 laptops.
Sony E series (3.9k variation)
Alienware m11x (4k variation) .
Would like some c&c from owners of the respective models.
Also , Would like to ask a few questions
1) How is the durability of Sony laptops.
2) How is Sony's after sales service (warranty , support ,etc) ? I've dealt with Dell for a couple of years now and they've been spotless replacing parts without asking any questions.
Better ask on the user thread

Hi fellow LYNetters
Waiting to get a new lappie from next months PC fair!
In search of a laptop of any brand with a few of the following requirements:
- 13" to 15" display
- Preferbably with a dedicated GPU for light gaming
-Engineering student. Will be running apps like programming compilers and MATLAB
- fairly durable hinge (remember my recent Asus Lappie with a terrible hinge problem. Hinge broke even after getting it replaced

)
My budget is RM2800 or less. Many thanks

If wanted the one with better GPU, consider Asus A42Jv, i5 450M + Nvidia GT335M@RM2799....
Else, can consider Acer 4741G, i5 450M + Nvidia 310M, 3 years@RM2299 or those Vostro 3300/3400/3500 and upgrade its warranty to 3 years for peace of mind...
