I use 64-bit on my desktop, but my laptop and netbook both running 32bit also mah... download both versions the most.

I thought win7 64bit can also run normal 32bit programs also right? if that program is not available in 64bit version

Win7 Ultimate is already heavy enough plus some more 64bit version, i'm sure the netbook end up for display only, just can power on and leave the win7 running, but cannot do anything one

A lot of you need to understand. 64-bit will run no doubt , you can run all 32-bit application in 64-bit. But remember that 32-bit apps on 64-bit suffer a bit of performance loss as there is a layer which translates 32-bit calls into 64-bit ones (or was it the other way around) , a translator which allows you to run 32-bit apps on 64-bit. Now the thing is that its going to take some performance hit. Secondly , to run 64-bit , Microsoft recommends 2GB at least. When you run 64-bit application it takes up twice the memory space or even more

You want a fast OS just for surfing , go try ubuntu netbook remix. Its bloody fast , good for if you want to play facebook games , surf the web , chat via MSN and a little bit of document editing.


64-bit Windows 7 for netbook is worth it when it runs nvidia ION aka Atom N4xx series + Nvidia GeForce 9400M. Then yes , that netbook you can play the latest games in 800x600 or even in 1024x600.

use money to buy it,wakkakaka ,in my home got 1 notebook ,1 netbook and 1 desktop (i buy ori windows xp pro service pack 3 for my pc and windows 7 ultimate for my notebook at lowyat plaza ) . this netbook come with windows 7 starter ,i din plan to change it ,coz i feel if load with more heavy os ,this netbook will be more lag

I mean the ori key for windows 7 starter of that netbook. And... My win 7 ulti 64bit on it is not for display only. I can surf net+mword+listen to songs at the same time. Not a big deal for it. I have used it for some time. Proven.

although you get the chop from the college/uni for your friend but he doesn't have the student ID to prove it at all. Because the TMpoint will photocopy of your friend's student ID and IC on the spot. anyway! wish u all the best
