Well, all the people here is waiting for the review as well I guess. It just came out in Asia so, I don't think we can see any review until it reaches US/UK.
But if anyone here is care enough to give a review, it'll be very much appreciated. notworthy.gif

Where can i find the review for the latest Dell U2211 and U2311? It's price is attractive, not sure how's the performace. Is the difference between the 8ms respond time noticeable compare to those of 2ms and 5ms?

Have to care about input lag now. if it is very low then it is a very good buy.

This... cannot say bigger better, because both are still the same 1080p, 27" simply has bigger dots.
If you do put your monitor quite far away, then it's ok to say 27" is a good, you got a better look at distance.
But if it's like 3 feet (1 meter) or lower, it's better to take smaller size as will not bend your neck or adjust your eye frequently to look at sides.

And, since XL2370 is new model and also receive good review, it's a good buy, for personal use wink.gif some more it's GREEN icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi Guys,

I'm planning to get 27" SAMSUNG P2770, but I'm wondering whether it would be too big as a monitor, would the ratiation from the monitor have any affect if I sit too near to the LCD.

Can you guys advice.

Radiation? I don't think so, because it's using CCFL, just sitting too near might not be too comfortable, bigger screen is for distance (1.5 meters+).
Consider XL2370, if you going to sit less than a meter away from the monitor.

For me, I'm using 23", sitting ~1 meter away for movie and gaming, it's best cause I can see the whole screen without moving my eyeball and neck much.

Now I'm in dilemma whether I should buy 27" monitor or not. I'm currently using a 19" monitor and i think new graphic cards will be slightly under utilized if it's used on a 19" monitor.. sad.gif

What's the new graphic card? HD5870? HD5970? GTX480?
If you play Crysis, single card nowadays still over utilize even on 19" (1440x900, 1280x1024), yes ultra quality + AAs shakehead.gif
Afraid of under utilize? Just pump up the AA and you can fully utilize the power of a graphic card. wink.gif

But, of course if you get 21.5" or 23" nowadays can enjoy full HD gaming + movies thumbup.gif

Am going out now to survey and look the 27" monitor, and see whether it's suitable for me. Just worry that it's too big and would strain my eyes and neck..

The quality Dell U2711 27" (2560 x 1440) is expensive at RM 2,899. You can get a Dell U2311H 23" (1920 x 1080) IPS for RM 749, but nobody has said if it is okay or good for gaming. Or a cheaper Dell ST2410 24" (1920 x 1080) TN for RM 679.

The only need is RM10 to 15 (or free if you have some lying around/comes with GC) for a DVI to HDMI adapter....

Erm, there's no HDMI port, so basically it's not a common port that non-PC component can connect AFAIK (as far as I know).
However you can actually connect using DVI to Display Port adapter or HDMI to Display Port adapter, which I think can be bought around the price that you stated.
The only thing that some people might not like is since Display Port or DVI doesn't carry sound, you need to hook up your sound system to your own component directly (i.e. PS3, XBOX, etc.).

According to Samsung and other e-tailer, the specifications does state that the response of GTG is 2ms, 5ms probably refer to BTB (Black to Black, or On-Off-On).
If you're looking at fast response, you'll sacrifice colors, it'll be the same for all TN panels.

This is newegg's 27" monitor product sorted by ratings.
Asus ranked first... should you get Asus? Well, read the customer reviews before you decide on one.

Want great colors, you probably looking at IPS, which is not just expensive, but you sacrifice the response that you wanted.

One note, manufacturer specifications might not always correct, my 5ms 2333SW ran through a response rate test and guess what? 16ms as a result, so a 2ms might not be always the case for LCD panel. Good luck with your purchase.

Wrong... DP is not compatible to DVI/HDMI signal.... however some DP ports on GCs allow a DVI/HDMI pass-through signal there for you can use a passive DP to DVI/HDMI adapter. A native DP on GC like on all(most) ati/amd 5870 cannot use the passive adapter, the digital signals are simply not compatible.

As it has been mentioned many times.
HDMI (1.2) = DVI + digital audio. ..... Not many GC or Displays implement HDMI 1.3 fully.

p.s. DP can carry audio too....
