yes thats what i read as well
i got my eyes on this as well
Dell 23" ST2321L HD Monitor with WLED
the spec's not too far from 2209WA i think
no reviews or anything yet from the net so i assume it's quite new
only cost RM599
*
you cant compare these two easily..
u said th st2321l is WLED..
but the 2209wa uses ips panel rather than a tn panel..
that makes all the different despite using normal backlighting..

in conclusion..the 2209wa is far more "keng" then then st2321l..
thats why the price is higher..

1 thing the 2209wa lack is the 1:1 bit mapping and its reso is only 1680x1050. Other than that its pretty good. Does the 1:1 bit mapping really matter in games and movies?

i think yours one has the same issue like mine if you read back my post few pages back.

As for me, i'm already log this problem and reported to Dell, now waiting for replacement. whistling.gif

Added on September 11, 2010, 10:21 amFor backlight bleed problem, first you have to be in a dark environment (not necessary in pitch black condition), view sthg with solid black on full screen...

Guys need some advice, I'm an existing user of Samsung 225BW, bout like 2 years back. Now I'm planning to look for an upgrade.

Preferrably looking back at samsung since I have confidence in them. But the thing is I'm not sure why is IPS panel, etc etc. Care to advice which would be an ideal choice for an upgrade?

Ideally is for gaming anyways. Ohh btw big difference between LCD and LED?

my dad appreciate the 1680x1050 on 22" becos everything is bigger (rabun mata)
he say those 1080 on 22", he need a magnifier to see the text clearly, drop the resolution become more sux blur (not native resolution)

TN is the best for gaming. nothing can beat their response time, contrast level is not bad too.

in LCD world, there are more than IPS and TN, LED or not. but the more u search. the more u hard to decide because of budget & availability here.

So best I go for TN panel for gaming?

My budget is below 700 cheaper the better of course to replace my samssung 225bw. Also pref HD or LED makes any difference?

Games - U2711 better in all games except those that can utilize two individual monitors eg. Supreme Commander. I don't think you'd want to play with bezels sitting on your crosshair in a fps...

Then again, you could buy 3 U2311s instead of a U2711 (3 U2311s are similar price) to alleviate such issues and combo with nv surround or ati eyefinity...

QUOTE(wildwestgoh @ Sep 8 2010, 04:55 PM)
ST2321? TN, I guess it's a normal monitor if you don't mind. If you're very budget and yet want better than normal monitor, then U2311H, good for typical yet better than normal TN panel. Some people on this topic can get this monitor for RM600 with 5 YEARS!! premium warranty, if it's not cheap enough, I don't know what to say.
U2311H is already hot topic in this thread.
U2311H is entry IPS, U2711 however is the real deal if you're into design (serious pro), it has better IPS parts than the little brother, higher resolution in one screen.
In the end, it's all depends on person, some like it one big screen, some don't mind to get many small one to eyefinity or nvision them together, you can buy three U2311H or maybe four depends on the negotiation from the U2711 price.
*
Anyone try out for eyefinity or nvision,is there any issue if I wanna extend my desktop in my daily use(probably pdf, words, excel, ppt etc)and a 'whole screen'when in gaming.
Though I am using a 27" setup but I dun think it is possible for me to team up both (27' and Dell U2711)if I go for Dell U2711,then I just can hook onto '1 screen' in gaming mode. hmm.gif hmm.gif

Any idea what's the equivalent specs of this HP X23LED LCD Monitor for other brand?
I'm doing a price vs value comparison but has been baffled by a lot of "specs" that I don't really understand.
