Hi bro Ura,

hmm....if the population of fs is shrinking in sg I suggest u guys make a trip up here, get some 100+ fs both male & females and breed it there.might help tho cool2.gif .

Hunting day 3 started at 11am ended 3pm today. Caught countless fs in differrent new areas. I never imagine my taman itself can be a magnetic pool for fs. caught 10 males on 1 stand alone pandan tree itself. here are some pics

didnt catch anything here but caught a ML size fs further inside. I think this guy will give some fight to my 1st & 2nd king which will be done tonight

user posted image
Was hoping to get more on this lily plant by the road side but only manage 1 male

user posted image
caught 10 males on this pandan plant alone (just in front of houses, probably planted by them ohmy.gif ). the whole stretch are full of pandan leaves and other plant but am too tired to carry on...max out box, went home.

will post some videos later if my body permits...very tiring but fruitful hunt altogether

cheers,
Jason

Hi Bro Jason.. our Fave Spots are being destroyed one by one due to Construction and stuff.. those are really Good Spots becos of the Environment. Plentiful of Food supplies for the FSes such as flies, ants and all sorts of funny insects + Shady Areas to protect the FSes from the Heat + No Fogging to kill them. So it is not really the problem of FS population shrinking.

Think Bro Randy and Bro Ricky will be there to meet up with you guys soon. Hope they will be able to do something about it. But in the end it is still the Quality that counts. Cos we always believe that it is the Genetic Issue that determines how Large a Male can grow to. Catching lots of FSes back is really Great when at least half of them are ML sizes and above. But again it makes no point if most of them are SL sizes and below. Think this time round is really a HEAVY Task for both Bro Randy and Ricky, to help recuperate SG FS Market.. brows.gif

Hey try to measure your ML size FS on the (1mm x 1mm) Grid Paper and take a Macro Shot of it..

A ML size FS should be ranging from 7mm to 7.4mm long after feeding him, from the face to abdomen tip.
Example: Attached Image

A L size FS will be from 7.5mm to 7.9mm.
Example: Attached Image

A XL size FS will be from 8mm and onwards.
Example: Attached Image

This is just a Rough Gauge, Arms length and thickness will be taken into Account too, plus the Head Width.
Take a Photo on the Grid of your Current Largest Male and let us have a look then we'll be able to tell.. smile.gif

By the way.. when i read this i was really SHOCKED.. Bro Jason please be KIND to FSes.. this is something more IMPORTANT than hunting the Largest Male.. I am here in SG now trying my Very Best to rear the FS Babies, being very careful to keep them alive when handling them using my fingers, letting them to drink and eat properly every single day and you're there to feed your Males with these Poor and Innocent Babies??? blink.gif

FS Babies are not meant to be used by us to feed our Males, no matter how Tough it is, since it is your Choice to keep the Males, it is your Responsibility to ensure they have their meals like eating Flies, Ants or any Sort of Insects except the FS Babies! FSes are meant to be Loved, not just hunt and hunt, fight and fight.. I am going to show you some Photos of the FS Babies i am rearing now so that you will understand more.

Yo Bro Ez thanks alot.. All the Slings are still at their 2nd Instar now.. Cant wait to see them moult another time!
Yeah FS Babies are really Lovely, in fact as soon as they moult for their 1st time, they can already behave like the Adults we catch in the Wild. The way they drink, eat, pose, shit, sleep and etc.. Is already the Same LOL.. But they are only 1.5mm~2mm Long now.. shocking.gif

Hi Everyone

Yes, we do have a big big FS problem in Singapore.

Drove past NT# during lunch and saw that construction work has begun at Bro Krauser's favourite FS spot. Arrived at Nirv### with great sadness as I saw about 20% of the lily patch botak already. It is exactly the spot where Datuk T was caught. Later during the day, the other FS kaki's SMS me to say the whole place botak already. If Nirv### lily patch is gone, where else would we get our FS? I have tried many other spots in vain and Nirv### has always at any point in time blessed me with at least 1 FS. I am so sad and each FS is precious and the loss of my favourite spot is unbearable. cry.gif

After work, hunted at Mand## and caught a good sized ML (close to spot where Rembrandt caught). He shall be called Mentor.. As I was driving home, spotted an XL sized wild boar. Yes, I just spotted a super long cobra yesterday but did not capture it on my camera phone. This time just barely managed to have this very large wild boar video-ed. He or she did struggle at the railing but rest assure that it was not hurt and finally ran off into the woods. So manda# has giant snake..giant wild boar and I hope to see and catch an XL sized FS. tongue.gif

Sorry about the poor quality of the wild boar video. I don't know where my phone cable is and I use cam-corder to record the already poor quality video from my phone. Here's the video:-

Wild Boar in Mandai (16/05/11)

Yes, Bro Jason, your place looks like an FS heaven and every small spot also have FS. How I wish it is like that in SG......

hi bro Ura,

Its a pity to see FS' home being destroyed, Im glad to know that we here have plenty of fs even in the cities. U could just simply plant a pandan leave and in no time u will find fs in it. I would say that they are great migrator here as we have construction every where but still u find fs even to the nearest of the construction area (I caught few sizeable fs 10 metres from a contruction site), maybe because they can fit in any kind of environment so long as there are some plants icon_rolleyes.gif 20 odd years back my kampung, the tree which i caught fs is still there today (the surounding environment are a little bit different due to some construction nearby, nevertheless I still can recognise the tree shape) which is good and bad - good - nature are still being preserve at its minimal, bad - seems like my kampung is not that develop comparing to bigger cities in Malaysia or sg.

I totally agree with you about the sizes, if u get small sizes everytime there wouldn't be any fun especially when dueling, that is the reason why i keep going to new places hoping to get a bigger size than before. Anyway it seems like getting 1 after another in a short period of time give me a hype in adrenaline and kept me check on my confident lvl to get a bigger ones later. It will drive me nuts if im empty handed in an hour or two or to get just 1 the whole day u know vmad.gif getting a ML size or SL size does not seem a matter to me at the moment because i really enjoy the hunting moment (I feel much more younger these days laugh.gif ).

Oh ya I measure my 3rd king (lone ranger2 which pass away 2 days ago) on a paper and threw away the carcass, took it on a ruler and it measure 7.1mm (head to tail, forgotten to take a measurement of the head), the arm length measure 7mm (i was able to stretch it full because its already dead, this guy has the longest arm among all my fs in captivity). I will try to get a measurement for all the sizeable fs soon provided if I have the time because im always on the hunt lately whenever free (hopefully its not that hard to measure when its still alive, I've never measure my fs till I join this forum). I guess its really a genetic issue as i only managed to catch 6 of those sizes or bigger in this 2 weeks (2 of which is my sparring because they lost the fighting will after losing few rounds)

One thing I really hope is to hunt in a group, looking forward to bro randy & bro ricky's trip up thumbup.gif

cheers
Jason

Hi Bro Randy,

I have been staying here in the west & drove past mandai many times but never had the chance to see things like snake or even wild boar shocking.gif
You are very blessed that beside hunting FS, you also get the bonus to see snake & wild boar. rclxms.gif
The encountered animals are getting bigger & bigger every @ time, please don't come back with leopard/tiger or lion video the next time round...... brows.gif

With regards to Nirv###,it's sad to know that all the plants are being cutted off so badly.

Looks like exploring new spots in SG is necessary as we've lost a great meeting & hunting ground. mad.gif

Yours Sincerely

Hmm...someone taught me to feed this way when I own my first fs, never crosses my mind it will extinct or almost like sg due to variety reasons. I guess I will try to be kind to them (tho sounds funny, human today tends to do funny stuff out of nature, tube baby, breast implant, botox etc) because what u say make sense. As far as I can remember, I tried raising baby spider during my younger days which failed (tried it out of my curiousity). its really a tough thing to raise a baby notworthy.gif as its a difficult task, it will be the last to do on my check list unless im facing the same issue as yours.

I wish if I kiss my fs to show love, he will love me back (tough to tell how he will laugh.gif) I can see from the pics of your extensive work, bravo bro. keep up your good work, sg really need more people like you thumbup.gif as for the babies, thanks for your kind reminder (will keep in mind of what i've learned today)

Hi Bro Jason.. it is just a Reminder for you just now.. in fact you will discover yourself Blessed with more FS Luck and more Good Things to happen to you with regards to FS when you start to be Kind towards FSes. Not only the feeding with FS Babies Issue, there are other things as well, i will list down here as far as i know.

1) When releasing FSes, only release it at a Spot where there are FSes(Thiania Bhamoensis) population.

2) Never leave FSes in the Car when you leave the Car.. Chances are that they will be heated to Death.

And i need to Clarify this now.. the Reason that i keep and rear the FS Babies is not becos of the FSes Quantity Issue in SG now.. First of all i have to tell you that my FS Babies are not the FSes you are catching.. the ones you're playing are Thiania Bhamoensis(aka T.Bha).. the FS Babies i am rearing are Thiania Subopressa(aka T.Sub).. it is a Different Species but yet they are a very Close Breed to T.Bha. T.Sub has the Size Double of T.Bha when they grow up.. Our Largest Sizes are at around 8mm long while theirs are at around 16mm long! It is really Something NEW and really Worth Spending Time to Explore.. As these FS Babies are from HongKong, a Close friend of mine sent it to me.. Every Single Baby who is Alive now is Fated, every Baby's Live is extremely Precious.. I am actually the only SG Kaki who is bearing an IMPORTANT TASK now to try to Breed these T.Sub into SG.. It is also a Challenge i wanted to take on and see how far i can go.. smile.gif

WAHLEOW...Bro Jason... you really terror...i think if you keep up like this, whole cheras area will be comb clean by you alone soon. Tomorrow I can't go hunting cause I'll be working(I work on weekends and public holidays). I'm sure you'll again catch many more males. Hopefully we can meet up together again when our Singaporean brothers come up here.

Yeah... i agree with Bro Ura, be kind to our fs esp babies. Take them if you want to rear them but not for feeding la... so cham. Got lots of other food choice you can give mah. Who knows, a particular baby may grow up to a L size male in the wild, but if you feed it, that's the end of it before it got the chance to grow.
Also try to be careful about leaving your fs in hot car. Really a waste to have so many fs males dying for a reason which we can control. I too have made this mistake before a couple of times, but i think in my lifetime, max i killed not more that 5 fs this way. Nowadays, I am very careful about heat on my fs. Even when i carry them on my pouch, I will ensure they are kept in my shadow should I happen to walk under the hot sun. So I will keep turning my pouch to ensure the sun is not shinning directly on it. Bear in mind that sometimes, even if we can tahan the heat in the car, the fs may not be able to do so. FS should always be kept cool.

Anyway, really good to have another super-on fs kaki to post so many pics and clips in such a short time after joining.

16mm? wow ru kidding me? blink.gif thats a realllly a huge fs. my jaw literally drop upon seeing the size writen. man u really have to keep up the good work..im really really awaiting eagerly to see a full grown. I consider myself a blockhead, imbecile person when it comes to fs world. I hope to learn as much from this wonderful forum. thanks for the advice.

p/s : I go HK at least once a year, mind linking me up with fs kakis there so i can go on hunting spree while my lady spree for something else...

yo bro mindstorm,

too bad u have to work tomorrow, I was hoping to spar with your blueish fs, how is he doing now?thanks for your advice, i will take heed (my bad for forgetting the fs during beakfast... sad.gif ) cheras is so hugh la bro, how to finish, my area is like 10% of cheras ni, tmn segar, ulik, batu 9 to batu 11, sg long, etc etc etc so many more how to finish....thinking of these area motivates me more drool.gif ....not to mention my working place, inside is kind of like a reserve forest by itself....

Bro LeeJason99,

Since u caught so many fs.. need to prepare enuf food to keep ur FS healthy.
You can easily get lotsa food supplies for your fs by putting banana or mango fruits outside ur house under some shades.. icon_rolleyes.gif
Like wat i did last time.. the fruit flies alwys my best food for my FS.
Just scope slowly the fruit flies into FS case and see ur FS feast on them. drool.gif

Hi Everyone

Met up with Bro Ricky at Bro Edmund's place this morning . Unfortunately, Bro Edmund lost his 1st King, BlueFox and feel sad for him. sad.gif

Anyway, both Bro Edmund and Bro Ricky assess my newly caught FS, Mentor and were of the view that it is not an ML sized FS but within the Large category. I later brought Mentor to Bro Ura's place to be assessed and it is likely Mentor is an entry level L sized FS. Have taken him on grid paper (with great difficulty) and so far he cannot stay still and the photo attached not so good. Perhaps after a few days of feeding will get a better grid paper photo shot.

Attached Image

Mentor was caught late in the evening before the wild boar sighting and after an afternoon rain. I caught him whilst he was eating another male FS. shocking.gif Based on this, he may be a Chopster and yes, confirmed he is a Chopster based on his first fight against Silver. He is also not a young Fs but I am very grateful to have the opportunity to catch an L sized FS in Singapore. Ha Ha, first ...giant cobra, giant wild boar and now L sized FS. Anyway, the fights video-ed this morning:_

Randy's Mentor (Bottom) V Edmund's Silver (Top) 170511

Edmund's X-Men (Top) V Randy's Excaliber (Bottom) 170511

Randy's Last Fighter of Nirvana (Bottom) V Edmund's X-Men (Top) 170511

Randy's Excaliber (Left) V Ricky's Starbuck (Right) 170511

Randy's Love (Right) V Ricky's Delta (Left) 170511

Ricky's Sissy (Left) V Randy's Love (Right) 170511

Ricky's Sissy (Top) V Randy's Excaliber (Bottom) 170511

Well, the champion after the fights is Bro Ricky's Fs named Sissy. Ha Ha ... a cute name for a FS.

We are still reeling from the shock of losing Nirvana and as such, I named my last Fs from Nirvana as...Last Fighter of Nirvana. He is an entry level SL sized FS and appears small compared to the other Fs. But most importantly, he has strong will power. It is also nice to hear Bro Buaya and Bro Ricky picking each and every disorientated FS at Nirvana and relocate them. rclxms.gif

Yo Bro Jason, how do we train a FS to become chop? My 1st few Fs naturally turned chop after about 1 month in captivity. They start to appear darker and then start to chop. Personally I prefer a normal fighter as once FS turn chop, generally they become somewhat not as strong a fighter as before. My earliest FS turned chopster is Valtor who could still produce a good long fight. On the other hand, another of my FS called Magnum was a chopster without much will power. Maybe it has to do with the Fs ability before becoming chop. Well, those are based on my short experience. I think two of the better FS Bro to answer your question would be Bro Vincent and Bro Ah Kim, both of whom are known for their skill in rearing good fighting spirit chopster.

Your Exspiderking

Randy

Added on May 18, 2011, 12:05 amMan.. tats a good spot for FS to breed and easy to catch fs.
Really bad tat area have to be cleared.

Waaa.. managed to saved 300 FS ?
Good effort by BRo Buaya/peter and other SG fs saving the fs. rclxms.gif .
Maybe can relocate them at Bukit Batok park or any recreational park nearby.
