that is compulsory to register with BEM if we are planning to become a Professional Engineer(IR). Sumore, i checked the cimb website, to apply a PLATINUM card for a degree graduate must got salary 80000 per annum , but with IEM member only 24000 per annum

It's a statutory requirement to register with BEM but most of them didn't actually do that. And of course if you're charting for PE/Ir. path, you need to register both.

Frankly speaking, DA upgraded my card to Platinum last year even though my annual income didn't reach that level. laugh.gif

I doubt that they'll call for that.

They'll only call you to verify certain information that they suspect or no confidence.

I don't really get what you meant exactly. my application has been approved already, i called the card center thrice to confirm it. smile.gif
Anyway, I think I better get my ass to the branch where I sent the application form to get clarification from them.

Just got charged RM50 to my AMEX gold and SonyCard, so total RM100. Damn it. I dont even apply for SonyCard initially and now need to pay for the stupid service tax. Feel like want to cancel both card soon next year, before the stupid tax being imposed again.

As long as annual income more than required, u can apply. Sometimes even when your annual income is below what required, they will give it to u too.

If you tick "collect card at branch" in your application form, you'll be informed of your approved card by mail. The mail will tell you which branch to collect from and by when you should collect it (personal experience). They don't call you to tell you to collect your card.

Otherwise, I guess the card will be mailed directly to your house.

Greetings all.

I'd like to cancel one of my cards - Is it better to write to the bank or should I just do it via the phone?

shakehead.gif Try CIMB. They normally give CL about 3X your monthly salary.

I really hate this GSC card. Caused a lot of problems to other users. Once I saw a family queuing for some popcorn and they did not notice the tiny GSC notice on the top. The counter just opened and a few people went to that lane...can't blame them. That family argued with the cashier for quite a while coz the counter was quite misleading. I almost went there myself until I noticed something shining on the top.

These GSC-specific counters are a nice feature to having a card, especially movie-goers. But the hassle to every other single CC user...not good.
