QUOTE(Calvin871989 @ Jun 11 2011, 09:29 PM) what is the original price for Orijen Puppy Large 7kg & 13.5kg ? my dad is planning to buy it from a shop at pudu. that is of course "if" they have it and if so how much discount their gonna give. thanks I checked with this shop - http://www.seaparkpet.com.my/ - because someone posted they sell Orijen quite cheap. For the Puppy Large Breed 13.5kg they quoted me RM246. |

The brand you feed all also very low quality. Filled with grains, fillers, and quality of ingredients are also questionable. If your budget tight try something like proseries holistic or nutriedge. If you don't mind the price and would do anything for your dogs health then innova, go! natural, now! grain free, vets choice health extension, canine caviar are all quite good brands. |

Alpo for me is very cheap.
If consider expensive meaning you don't have enough budget to provide food. Alpo is really cheap food with cheap ingredients. And i bet the poop has a strong smell. What dog are you keeping? And how much is your dog food budget? |

QUOTE(drakulaed @ Aug 9 2011, 06:47 PM) As others have mentioned Alpo is already considered a cheap dog food. It's also fairly low quality, just got 1-star rating from http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com and http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com |

Well if you must, there are actually aplenty of dog food that are a lot cheaper than alpo. Try Farm Dog, Super dog(supermarkets), and one called Breeder something, RM60 for a 15 kg bag.

Please bear in mind that all products need to go through a few hands (manufacturer, distributor, retailer) in order to reach to the end user. U can roughly count how much is the exact cost of ingredient inside a bag of dog food.

with you have rm 140. Try feeding raw. Feed them once a day.
2-3% of their weight. Golden is big dog, when you keep them you should understand they have big tummy. Unless it's a mix ( smaller side) I spend about rm250-300/ month. Yours +- rm600? |

It's there abouts... Just curious to how much you are feeding your dog daily. RM70 per dog per week means you are feeding them about 30kg of kibbles per dog a week? That's about 4kg a day. Are you over feeding your dogs? or did you include misc into your costs (i.e. treats and all) |

I now gradually mixing lesser and lesser Eukaba mixed with Pro Plan. Once Eukaba phase out, i will feed purely pro plan for a week before mixing it with Inova.
After reading and understanding dog food, i will feed my puppy Beagle Innova. Once when he turn to 6 month, i will feed him adult food. Perharps Orijen 6 fish. |

QUOTE(MsiaqweR @ Aug 10 2011, 09:22 AM) Yes that's okay (to answer on behalf). Just that once in a while you've got to feed some "spare parts" to them too.Bones are essential too (that's where the calcium comes from (unless you give them milk every other day)). Depending on your dog, ratio can be 70% meat, 20% bones and 10% spare parts (heart, gizzard and etc). some goes 60,30,10 or 75,20,5. all depends on the dog. you adjust accordingly and skins are alright too. this is raw feeding and there are also barf feeding which includes fibre and vege... so depends on you again. i find raw fed dogs have better teeth and you don't even need to brush them (no maintenance needed)... |
