Kangkung oso not good.why don u buy some feeder fish to feed them instead?
*
I didnt know that kangkung is not good for RES.

For all these whiles I read here from version 1 till now, I got the impression that kangkung is ok for turtles while sawi will be for tortoise. Maybe I read/remember wrongly.

Then, what greens can I offer as staple to RES? I would like to get them on greens more.

Thank you.

greens don't make good staples for res (and most aquatic turtles, that is). they need food with high protein and calcium contents, and for that commercial pellets serve as good staples.

for greens, floating plants like P. stratiotes and E. crassipes (refer to first page) would do fine.

however, if you need plants for shade or decorative purposes, you can refer to this list.

http://www.tortoisetrust.org/articles/houseplants.htm

i personally use lots of ferns in my enclosures.

Thank you for all the praise.

Azazel, so far, I have spent approx. RM1400 which excludes metal works as dad has yet to give me the bill. RM1400 is only for the main components such as fiberglass tank, eheim 2217, hydor ario colour 2.

Cami, thanks. Will research more before putting any live plants in the enclosure.

BenSow, am I allowed to disclose names here? I found 2 traders. For retail, only standard sizes. Customised sizes allowed if big quantity.

Thanks for the reply. That's quite a hefty price for some RES. But I am sure they will be happy in their new home smile.gif

p.s. Maybe you should get something like this to complement your new (and should I say AWESOME!) setup. Just a thought...smile.gif

Regards

Tempting thought..... very very tempting but I think I better stick to my four for the time being. Or else I may end up have to upgrade their tank again in the very near future which I dont intend to.

i gave away one of my RES two weeks ago.
the problem is it hasnt been eating.
would it be because of the stress of new environment? i had to take it to college and my fren turtle-sat it while i was in class (2 aircond @ 20C).
i tried to keep it as stable as i can while in the car/walking. the water level was low not covering the shell.

before this i fed pellets and sawi .
is there a way to get it to eat again?

does it have proper basking light or any sources of heat? get some if you haven't.

and lugging it around is only helping in creating more stress to the turtle, mind you.

plus, since (i assume) that it is still a hatchling, if the not-eating problem hadn't been rectified for 2 weeks already (from the time you gave it away), chances are it is a little too late by now...

if you somehow get some of those, i would be glad to adopt them if you run out of space in the future LOL..

Beach sand is free !! But many mesh size out there depending on where you get them and what your intention !!

Filter sand are expensive and more abrasive I think !!

I own 4 cute loving little turts plus 1 small one. xD
