seems like no different wit the previous A42Jr / A52Jr, they juz change the motherboard or graphic card. btw, is it A42Jr and A52Jr not available in the market anymore? HD 5145 is that good? better than HD 5470?

HD5470 > HD5145 ... Find JR model with HD5470 if u looking for graphics performance.

Is this a42jr or Dell Vostro 3700,which one gud for budget gaming???

better go for vostro.. better gpu for gaming n big screen if u dont mine to carry giant notebook 17"..

Quite a nice benchmark of BF:BC2 ...well, as expected from HD5470 because we know can handle the game well ...

Getting 25~40fps for the game is

A42JR user here, bought last feb, rm2699, i3 version..

Havent tried heavy gaming yet.. Only played a couple of light games such as juiced 2 and the sims 3. Very smooth at full settings.

Btw, my machine tends to hang randomly for about 1-2 minutes before becoming normal again. Really annoying. Any of you guys having the same problem?

No more asus a52jr. now in the only have new version of A series. Asus a42jk/a52jk. the replacement model for Jr series.

AC2 running fine on my k50ab highest setting so jr series wont be a problem but Splinter Cell too heavy for mine.

That sucks, they told me they make me a new one since the new model came out, i find that hard to believe. Too bad i might just have to cancel my order

i ordered mine that comes with i5 520m and 4 gig ram, which is slightly higher than the normal one. The one i order cost rm3200.

with that budget.. better u consider to buy lenovo y460 with better GPU hd5650

Damn, they always delay, same for mine, been delay for 3 weeks already, next week for me would be a month already. I might just get Dell Studio 15 then. I think Asus are very careful in making their units, thats why it has such a low failure rate. Careful production = slower production = less units

yea dissaponited but still got option going for Vostro 3700 or Lenovo y series with better spec.

i think performance between hd5470 n hd5145 not far.. still in the same range...

i suggest better u go to lenovo y series.

Kinda out of my budget, I just need something to use on the go that can game decently. Besides, I'm looking at the A42JK with i3-350M. Only 2.5k!

HD5470 is a new gen GPU, HD5145 is just a rebadged HD4570 with higher clockspeed.

I recommend the Lenovo.

Not the shop problem la. All dealer also keep waiting status from Asus w/o any notice.

Mine's the same. But mine is the JR version. And it sounds crappy too. Like too much treble and no bass. Watching movies with the speakers is a pain. I wonder does the JK have the same lousy speakers as the JR?

setting your SRS premium.. there have default setting for built-in speaker,external speaker n headphone.. click at external speaker.. problem solve.

The HD5145 in the JK is almost as good, except it uses 55nm die and has slightly slower clockspeed.

otherwise is basically same machine with the JR.

Performance should be roughly the same. Maybe 3-5% slower since the JR's 5470 boast better clockspeeds.

I bought an ASUS a42jk (i5 430m) las pcfair in KK Sabah. The GPU is almost the same as a42jr, without directx11. Installed Battlefield Bad Company 2, ran smoothly under medium-low with 4x antiphiosphic filtering settings 1366x768 ( the graphics & effects are still superb in such settings). But of coz its wise to upgrade to 4gb RAM so programs will run fast & without lag. Battlefield took like nearly 1gb+ memory ... so 4gb is needed.

Temperature during non-gaming times stands arnd 48~50C, during Battefield max at 70C so i tink its good there. I'm using a coolermaster btw.

Bad Company 2 is a bad ass game!

i5-520M compare to i5-430M any big difference in performance?

The diff is the higher clock. Bear in mind that A42JK i5-520m come with 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, Ati HD5170..compare with A42JK with i5-430. The price just -RM200 diff so I bet i5-520 has better deal if ur budget allowed.
