hmmmm, my real complaints from my a42jv right now are as follow:

1. single jack for mic/earphone
2. the 2 usbs on the left is a source for concern due to heat, i got my digi internet dongle there and it heats up in 1 hour or so due to the air...
3. nothing.. yet lol biggrin.gif

but these are nothing compared to the +s biggrin.gif

btw you all installed the latest driver @ http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook-win7...hql-driver.html ?

Hi to all ASUS A42JV user here,...so far wat r the known "issues" wit this laptop??.....Is there any major problems??...
Im quite interested wit dis laptop but jst wanna make suree......Thx
*
major i say none, really...
minor, maybe some heat issue for the usb slots on the left side, i would prefer for the heat to be blowed from the back
and then there's the single earphone/microphone jack...

i have some issue with my battery lock, i think this is just my unit, very minor, but annoying nonethelss

tried loads of MMO on this laptop (A42JV) no problem all on high setting:

Aika, Allods, Atlantica, Dragonica, SUN, ... basically can run ALL current MMOs without any difficulty..

Also tried Dragon Age Origins on it, FULL HIGH setting, fine gameplay smile.gif

if you encounter problm with this version try use the older version, maybe it working..

I solved the overheating problem, by lowering the maximum proc state a bit..now happily play games with no lag and recorded temp around 72'c on cpu,gpu and thrm.. rclxms.gif

how do you lower the max proc state? would appreciate a quick tutorial on that, i'm not happy with the heat generated now O.o

thanks

anyone have any tips on notebook care. I read that using vacuum is good to get the dusts of ketyboard and near the heat release area. And using the cloth for specs is good to clean the screen, anything else that i should know of?

hmmmm i have issues with the gpu i think, whenever the screen went off (not hibernate/sleep, just off) and i hit a key to reactivate it, it'll take quite a while for me to regain control of the win 7. i cant minimize, i cant use the program currently running (chrome for eg.), i just have to wait till it finished processing, sometimes taking 5 minutes or so... anyone facing the same problem?
