if SD didn't pull out those standard features (as what S'pore are getting), then the pricing will be nice
10xk for 1.8 engine but can match the rpm and power of 2.0
not forgetting the exterior aspect. i hope they put in HID for the light smile.gif

will the first batch be CBU?

also, if we were to get the car by/in December, it would be wasted as a year in terms of its sell-on value as a 2nd hand later?

but even if we were to get in January or Feb, the manufacture year will still most likely be 2011?

enlighten me plz people! thanks!

Order Oct get Dec .. might as well just wait 2 months and order in Dec get in Feb ?

Manufacturing date very subjective and is usually used by 2nd hand car dealers to suppress your selling price.

You can also ask for manufacturing date instead of registration date when you buy 2nd hand cars but most don't biggrin.gif

Below is my findings, the one in bracket is official value.

highway : 38.8 - 39.4 mpg (40 mpg). Best FC cruising speed seems to be around 80-85 mpg which is 128-136 kph. converted to l/100km, it would be around 6.0311432 liters/100 km.

City : 27-28mpg (30mpg). 8.4 l/100km

Please note that the ECO indicator will turn on if you are driving "economically". Otherwise the car will drink the petrol like water to get the power you need. And it does consume a lot of petrol very quick (quicker than my 1.6 XLI wira) if you trash the gas pedal.

I saw Hyundai Elantra banners that the car will be available in Nov/Dec this year around in Penang btw...

Excellent FC report Snowfish. Quick question, which part of the States were you driving that car? Was the climate cold? I think for our typical KL traffic and weather, just add 10% to the figures you quoted, which is still a respectable figure.

I was near San Francisco in Cali, where temperature are around 28C in the day and 16C at night. So yeah, add that 10%.

And oh...1 more thing...the "mouth" of the boot space is quite small, about the same as the Inspira. You need to "insert" your things into the boot rather that "putting" into it.

Cruise control will lower your mpg by about 1mpg. The values earlier were achieved without CC.

Get by December?? Thats the WORST time to register a new car. Within 1 month, your car is considered 1 year old and for Korean cars, every cent you get from resale value must be treasured.

Do you guys know why many car manufacturers like to launch new models in Malaysia towards end of the year? 1 of the main reasons is because they use a year end launch in Malaysia as a method to push off current year stock from other countries.

There is always a lul in car sales towards year end as everybody knows the massive drop in resale value coming if they register too late. Thus, many car manufacturers use the year end period to create excitement by launching new models then.

My advise to everybody is not to get caught up with the euphoria of a new launch. Be patient, weigh your options and decide whats best before committing to a car purchase. Always remember that in Malaysia, car purchases are like buying a property (minus the returns) with a lot of thinking and evaluation required before purchasing. The idea is to always try and minimise losses.

So dont rush and register a car after Aug/Sept. If you can, then please wait for the following year model. But if ure trading in a car, then do the math first.

a few mths period towards the end of yr really make a big diff to the car value and my own pocket. i'm glad smile.gif that i managed to resist the temptation of drivin the car that i admire.
