They could have streamlined and make things easier by delivering cable tv over a separate band and use regular PPPoE accounts for internet allowing other isps to share their data network instead of dividing portions of their services by using virtual circuits(VCs).

Now why would a monopolist share their booty?

btw today I received the unifi offer via snail mail. If I sign up I'd get a shitty England tshirt.

The irony is I've been using unifi since April.

I just got my UniFi VIP5 service. Installers took several hours, from 11am to nearly 6pm... Weren't willing to go into the attic, because it was dangerous and not part of their job description. To be fair, these guys aren't field technicians, but they were sent out anyway to help clear backlog.

My download speeds vary from around 4.5mbps to nearly 6mbps. Rapidshare premium gives me around 700Kbps which is very satisfying...

And those of you who got the T-Shirt offer, guess what they gave me... a keychain!

just got the VIP 20 installed, tested it out with a couple of torrents, initially the download speed was great - about 700kb/s then it fell drastically to bout an average of 100kb/s, is this what VIP 20 users usually get?

Maybe the torrent you're downloading is badly seeded/has few peers.. also check speedtest.net and confirm you can go over 700KB/s I'm dling a public tracker torrent @ 1.9MB/s at the moment.

yeah, did a speedtest earlier, got around 18mb/s in downloads, yeah perhaps the seed/peer ratio was a little low. seems im drawing conclusions too early. will do summore testing tmr.

haha, its not because of installation fee, I will be away for almost entire July, so thought of pre-register and hopefully to get installation to be done before I'm off...

Could you be more specific please ._.? Fixed the DIR-615 as in.. installed it or repaired it? File sharing.. from where to where.. what protocol? Whats your network setup? PS3 using wireless or wired? Whats a ps4? You have two PCs now?

I haven't had much issues on the internal LAN with the DIR-615 before.. except the occasional wired network being unable to connect to anything on the wireless side.

I managed to get them (TM technicians) to get up to the attic as i wanted the fiberhome and router to be placed on the second floor. At first they are not willing, as you mention, it could be dangerous and they might break something.

BTW. You have a nice download speed. They also gave a keychain, found in the orange box. They say the T-shirt will be courier to us.

From July 1, UniFi will be available in 18 additional exchanges rclxms.gif , after the service was launched in the initial four areas of Shah Alam, Subang Jaya, Bangsar, and Taman Tun Dr. Ismail on March 24.

The new exchange areas that will be available for commercial subscription include both industrial and residential areas. The industrial areas include Kulim Hi-Tech Park (Kedah), Bayan Baru (Penang), Senai and Permas (Johor). While residential areas include Wangsa Maju, Sungai Buloh, Melawati, Kepong in Selangor, Cyberjaya and Putrajaya and Damansara in the Federal Territory.
